Dear BES Families:
We have had a second student test positive for COVID-19 in a classroom that had a prior student test positive. In an over-abundance of caution and with guidance from the Indiana State Department of Health the classroom of those students, including teacher and students, will remain home in quarantine for fourteen days.
We have continued to maintain students in their homeroom cohort groups throughout the school day in accordance to our established Return To Learn Plans. We are following the guidance of the health department and those individuals who were in close contact (less than six feet for more than fifteen minutes) with the students who tested positive have been notified.
Again, if there is a confirmed COVID-19 case in a home, if a student has pending test results of a COVID-19 test, or if a student is exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 then students should not attend school.
Should you have questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact your building administrators. I would remind you that we cannot share a lot of information due to HIPAA Privacy Rules that establish national standards to protect individuals' medical records and other personal health information.
Patrick Spray, Superintendent
