Dear Families:
I wanted to make you aware that we have had students, teachers and staff members test positive for COVID-19 throughout our district over the last week. This includes:
- BES - 1 Student
- CES - 1 Student
- GCES - 3 Students
- PCES - 4 Students
- WES - 1 Student
- CPMS - 5 Students, 2 Virtual Students, 3 Teachers and 1 Staff Member
- WCHS - 11 Students, 1 Staff Member and 1 Teacher
The students, teachers and staff members will remain home in isolation for at least 10 days AND is 24-hours fever free in accordance with the Indiana State Department of Health's guidance.
We have contacted the Johnson County Department of Health and started the process of contact tracing. We are following the guidance of the health department and those individuals who were in close contact (less than six feet for more than fifteen minutes) with the students, teachers and staff members have been notified.
These numbers are from the holiday week and today. I would like to take this opportunity to remind families and staff that students and staff should not attend school if there is a confirmed COVID-19 case in their home, if the student or staff member has pending test results of a COVID-19 test, or if the student or staff member is exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19.
Should you have questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact your building administrators. I would remind you that we cannot share a lot of information due to HIPAA Privacy Rules that establish national standards to protect individuals' medical records and other personal health information.
Sincerely,
Patrick Spray, Superintendent
