Dear BES Families:
I wanted to make you aware that a student at Break-O-Day Elementary has tested positive for COVID-1. The student was in school this week. The student will remain home in isolation for at least 10 days AND is 24-hours fever free in accordance with the Indiana State Department of Health's guidance.
We have contacted the Johnson County Department of Health and started the process of contact tracing with regard to the classroom. We are following the guidance of the health department and those individuals who were in close contact (less than six feet for more than fifteen minutes) with the student have been notified.
This is a reminder if there is a confirmed COVID-19 case in a home, if a student has pending test results of a COVID-19 test, or if a student is exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 then students should not attend school.
Should you have questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact your building administrators. I would remind you that we cannot share a lot of information due to HIPAA Privacy Rules that establish national standards to protect individuals' medical records and other personal health information.
Sincerely,
Patrick Spray, Superintendent
