Welcome Ruby Butler

Ruby Butler has been named the DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) Coordinator of Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation.  

Ms. Butler is a native of Indianapolis and has been a motivational speaker, instructional coach, educator and DEI Professional. She comes to us from Lincoln Middle School in Pike Township where she was an instructional coach and educational leader. At Lincoln Middle School she created and facilitated professional development on student engagement, leading with positive energy, creating positive classroom and work environments as well as worked on DEI initiatives. 

She has spent the last 23 years dedicated to improving the lives of young people through education. She holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary English Education. 

Ms. Butler, as DEI Coordinator, will be a visionary and collaborative leader who will facilitate DEI efforts throughout the Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation. She will provide guidance, leadership and collaboration in all areas of the school district and will be integral in fulfilling our commitment to recruiting, retaining and supporting a diverse staff, educating a diverse student body and creating a safe and welcoming environment . Ms. Butler will help to foster, create and maintain responsive and welcoming school culture and learning environment in the Clark-Pleasant schools as well as support the engagement of family and community partners in the various academic, instructional and social/emotional support services. She will also work closely and serve as the point of contact with community partners on issues of diversity, equity and inclusion.

Among her many other responsibilities, Ms. Butler will also serve as Title VI, Title IX and Anti-Harassment Coordinator for the district and oversee compliance with grievance procedures.

We welcome Ms. Butler to our staff and look forward to her helping CPCSC educators and staff in developing their own levels of cultural proficiency that support them in creating culturally supportive learning environments that promote the academic, behavioral and social-emotional success of all students.
