It’s been one of those weeks — full of snow days, two-hour delays, and a whole lot of flexibility. As we head into Friday, January 30, Clark-Pleasant Schools will once again operate on a 2-Hour Delay.
Thank you to our families for your patience, our students for rolling with the changes, and our incredible staff for adapting day after day to keep learning moving forward. A special shout-out to our maintenance, grounds, transportation, and custodial teams who’ve been working around the clock to keep our buildings, parking lots, and buses safe in tough winter conditions.
Here’s to a smooth, safe end to the week — and maybe a little less snow in the forecast ahead. Stay warm and have a great Friday, Warrior family!

After several days of snow and synchronous e-learning, we are looking forward to welcoming students back tomorrow with a modified schedule.
Temperatures are expected to remain cold tomorrow morning. If possible, please help students dress in layers or wear weather-appropriate clothing to stay comfortable while traveling to school and during arrival. As always, our schools will continue to support students as needed to ensure everyone is safe and cared for.
We truly appreciate your patience, flexibility, and partnership over the past several days.
If there are any additional changes, families will be notified via ParentSquare, and updates will also be shared on our social media platforms and with local news outlets.
Additional details will be shared by individual schools or teachers as needed. We look forward to seeing our students tomorrow.

Due to updated weather reports and new information received in the last hour, Clark-Pleasant Community Schools will now be CLOSED tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Instead, we will move to a synchronous (LIVE) e-learning day for all students.
Teachers will share specific expectations, schedules, and login information directly with students and families.
Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we continue to make decisions with the safety of our students and staff as our top priority.
Stay safe and warm

Updated: We will now be CLOSED with a SYNCHRONOUS (LIVE) E-Learning Day Tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28th
2-Hour Delay with NO EARLY RELEASE – Wednesday, January 28, 2026
Due to cold temperatures and inclement weather, Clark-Pleasant Community Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28, 2026. There will be NO early release.
More detailed information will be shared by your individual teacher or school as needed. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.
Stay warm, and thank you for your continued support.

Clark-Pleasant Community Schools – E-Learning Day
Tuesday, January 27, 2026
Due to inclement weather, all Clark-Pleasant school buildings will be CLOSED tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
However, students WILL participate in a SYNCHRONOUS (LIVE) e-Learning Day.
🔹 What this means for families:
Students do NOT report to school buildings
Students WILL log in from home to attend live online classes with their teachers
The State of Indiana allows schools to use three asynchronous e-learning days, where students complete work independently. Those days have already been used. As a result, we are now operating under Synchronous (Live) e-Learning, which requires students to log in and participate in real-time instruction.
Each school will be sending families specific schedule and login information so students know when and where to join their live sessions.
Thank you for your flexibility and partnership as we keep students learning while keeping everyone safe.

CPCSC will be on a 2-Hour Delay Tomorrow, Monday, December 15th
Due to cold temperatures and poor road conditions, Clark-Pleasant Community Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay. Additional details may be shared by your child’s school or teacher.

Clark-Pleasant Community Schools will be CLOSED today, Friday, December 12th, due to inclement weather. Today will be a SYNCHRONOUS (LIVE) eLearning Day
As a reminder, the State of Indiana only allows schools to use three asynchronous e-learning days in which students log-in on their own and complete work without access to a teacher. We have utilized those days and now switch to "Synchronous (live) Learning". This means that your child will need to log-in to join the live sessions during the day. Information will be sent out by each school with more information about schedules and times.

A sensory path is a series of movement activities placed on walls and floors that students can follow to help their bodies and brains reset. As they jump, balance, stretch, and follow visual cues, students are actively engaging their senses — helping them regulate, refocus, and get ready to learn.
This short 1–2 minute experience can be used for transitions, brain breaks, or anytime a student needs help getting back on track. When bodies are regulated, brains are ready!
We’re excited to offer another supportive tool that helps our students succeed at the Ruth Callon Center.

💙 A Legacy Honored. A Future Built. 💙
Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation hosted a building dedication and naming ceremony on Friday, November 7th to officially open the Ruth Callon Center, a new K–5 trauma and behavior support center designed to serve students across the district.
The center houses Clark-Pleasant’s K–5 Trauma and Behavior Program, which offers a safe, supportive environment designed to help students develop the skills they need to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. The program is rooted in trauma-informed care and positive conscious discipline support. The staff is committed to partnering closely with families to ensure each child feels safe, valued, and understood. The building is named in honor of Ruth (Doub) Callon — educator, coach, advocate, and pioneer in girls’ and women’s athletics. Callon spent her life creating opportunities for those who were overlooked or left out. She co-founded Special Olympics in Johnson County, created early women’s athletic programs, and built a legacy grounded in courage, compassion, and action.
The dedication ceremony featured remarks from Superintendent Dr. Tim Edsell, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Cassandra Shipp, Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Executive Director Matt Martin, and Principal Nicole Osborne
One of the event’s defining moments was the presentation of the key to the building from Matt Shultz of The Peterson Company (construction partner) to Principal Osborne, symbolizing the official handoff of the project.
Immediately after, guests gathered outside for:
The unveiling of the building name on the exterior façade
A ribbon cutting ceremony marking the official opening
Principal Nicole Osborne described how the center reflects Ruth Callon’s legacy: “Legacy isn’t just about what we leave — it’s what we build together, day by day, with perseverance and persistence. Every beam, every wall, and every classroom in the Ruth Callon Center represents her spirit.”
The most emotional moment came when Dan Callon, Ruth’s son, shared stories about his mother’s lifelong mission to ensure every person was noticed, valued, and included. “Often, the greatest gift she gave was noticing people,” he said.
“I don’t believe CPCSC could have chosen a better name for this building than the Ruth Callon Center. Our family thanks you and will cherish this honor for generations to come.”
Thank you to all who attended this event and for making this a memorable moment in our corporation.
This story was featured on Fox 59 and Channel 4 on Friday, November 7th during the nightly news . This story will be featured in the Daily Journal this week.

Hallow Trails Fun at RCC!
Yesterday, our RCC kids and special guests enjoyed a festive and slightly spooky adventure during Hallow Trails! Students worked together to decorate the walking trail leading to our outdoor classroom, transforming it into a fall-themed path full of creativity and Halloween spirit.
Once there, students gathered for a special storytime read by Dr. Shipp, followed by snacks and crafts back in the cafeteria — even Dr. Edsell joined in on the fun and made a bat of his own!
A big thank-you to the Clark-Pleasant Police Department, who walked with our students to and from the outdoor classroom and helped make the journey both safe and enjoyable.
It was a perfect mix of imagination, community, and fall celebration. 🍂🎃
#RCC #WeAreClarkPleasant #WarriorProud #CommunityStrong
