Culture & Belonging

The Warrior Way

Warrior Way Logo

The Warrior Way—Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe is the cornerstone of all our programming at CPCSC. Through Warrior Way time we embed engaging lessons that emphasize collaboration, building relationships, and self-regulation. We urge students to be respectful when interacting with each other; to show empathy and compassion toward fellow learners in pursuit of academic excellence. We affirm our students’ cultural experiences and work to create safe spaces where students can thrive and learn as their authentic selves.

Our Culture & Belonging Coordinator is Ruby Butler, B.S.; M.S.Ed.

You can contact Ms. Butler via email or phone 317-535-7579

What is Educational Equity?

Educational equity empowers students and supports academic excellence! At CPCSC, educational equity can be defined as beliefs, actions, and policies that enable all students to have access to and participate in quality learning environments and experience successful outcomes.

Our Vision of Excellence includes creating safe learning environments valuing students’ culture, language, heritage, gender/ expression, and experiences. We understand that equity work is a process not a destination requiring educators and leaders to critically examine conditions for learning and actively remove barriers that prohibit success.

Warrior Way Podcast

Our Warrior Way Podcast is done in collaboration with Mr. Corley, Broadcasting Teacher at WCHS, and his students - Thank you Mr. Corley and your students!

In this episode, PCES Assistant Principal, Bethany Guilfoy, has a conversation with Ruby Butler, Culture & Belonging Coordinator, explaining how the Warrior Way is implemented in CPCSC schools.  Both discuss ways families can connect to the Warrior Way at home.

In this episode, meet Ms. Lauren Jones, CPCSC Food Service Director.  Learn how Ms. Jones prioritizes nutrition and plans to feed over 5,000 students and faculty everyday.  Ms. Jones also explains how she and her team embrace and connect to the Warrior Way daily.

In our 3rd episode of What's Happening Around the Warrior Way, Ms. Butler conducted an interview with three of our Behavior Specialists. They discussed what they do to encourage students in the Warrior Way as well as how they help students on a daily basis.

CPCSC Equity Teams

District Equity Committee

CPCSC created a District Equity Committee comprised of K-12 administrators, educators, and paraprofessionals. We discuss practices, policies, and the living experiences of students. This committee drives our community outreach and determines how best to actively engage parents and community members.

Ambassadors for Equity

(Building Representatives)

Each school has named at least two Equity Ambassadors. Equity Ambassadors are building liaisons serving as equity and inclusion champions. Equity Ambassadors work directly with the Culture & Belonging Coordinator to help facilitate professional development to further our initiative to build capacity in equity and inclusion.
