It is National School Counseling Week, and we hope you will join us in celebrating the heart, dedication, and impact of our school counselor, Mrs. DeLion! She supports our Break-O-Day students academically, socially, and emotionally every day. Her work goes beyond the classroom as she helps our students build confidence, navigate big feelings, and develop the skills they need to succeed in school and in life. Through compassion, patience, and an unwavering belief in every child’s potential, Mrs. DeLion creates a safe, welcoming environment where all students can grow and thrive. This week is a special week to thank her for the many ways she makes a lasting difference in our BES community. Thank you, Mrs. DeLion, for being an amazing school counselor!💙

Important Update – Break-O-Day Elementary School

Due to an overnight issue at Break-O-Day Elementary School, BES will be closed today, Friday, January 30, 2026, and will operate as a Synchronous (LIVE) eLearning Day.

During the night, a heating unit located above the ceiling failed in one classroom (the Art room), causing smoke in that isolated area. The fire department responded immediately, and the situation was addressed quickly. There was no damage to other areas of the building; however, additional time is needed today to complete cleanup efforts.

All other schools in the district will operate on a 2-Hour Delay with in-person learning.

We will provide an update to BES families over the weekend regarding plans for Monday. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Friday, January 30, Clark-Pleasant Schools will once again operate on a 2-Hour Delay

It’s been one of those weeks — full of snow days, two-hour delays, and a whole lot of flexibility. As we head into Friday, January 30, Clark-Pleasant Schools will once again operate on a 2-Hour Delay.

Thank you to our families for your patience, our students for rolling with the changes, and our incredible staff for adapting day after day to keep learning moving forward. A special shout-out to our maintenance, grounds, transportation, and custodial teams who’ve been working around the clock to keep our buildings, parking lots, and buses safe in tough winter conditions.

Here’s to a smooth, safe end to the week — and maybe a little less snow in the forecast ahead. Stay warm and have a great Friday, Warrior family!

2-Hour Delay
Clark-Pleasant Community Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

After several days of snow and synchronous e-learning, we are looking forward to welcoming students back tomorrow with a modified schedule.

Temperatures are expected to remain cold tomorrow morning. If possible, please help students dress in layers or wear weather-appropriate clothing to stay comfortable while traveling to school and during arrival. As always, our schools will continue to support students as needed to ensure everyone is safe and cared for.

We truly appreciate your patience, flexibility, and partnership over the past several days.

If there are any additional changes, families will be notified via ParentSquare, and updates will also be shared on our social media platforms and with local news outlets.

Additional details will be shared by individual schools or teachers as needed. We look forward to seeing our students tomorrow.

Clark-Pleasant Community Schools – E-Learning Day
Tuesday, January 27, 2026

Due to inclement weather, all Clark-Pleasant school buildings will be CLOSED tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
However, students WILL participate in a SYNCHRONOUS (LIVE) e-Learning Day.

🔹 What this means for families:
Students do NOT report to school buildings
Students WILL log in from home to attend live online classes with their teachers

The State of Indiana allows schools to use three asynchronous e-learning days, where students complete work independently. Those days have already been used. As a result, we are now operating under Synchronous (Live) e-Learning, which requires students to log in and participate in real-time instruction.
Each school will be sending families specific schedule and login information so students know when and where to join their live sessions.
Thank you for your flexibility and partnership as we keep students learning while keeping everyone safe.

Third grade had a great field trip in Franklin, Indiana! They were able to see a movie at the Artcraft and then walked over to the Franklin courthouse. They then saw what a real courtroom looked and sounded like! They were able to talk to real judges and lawyers. They got to see a real courtroom and ask questions to real judges. It was a fantastic day!
