Mr. Sherrow brings 14 years of experience in education, including time as a middle school principal and classroom teacher in both middle and high school settings. He is passionate about creating a student-centered environment built on collaboration, communication, positivity, and data-driven decision making.
Outside of school, Mr. Sherrow enjoys spending time with his wife, Stephanie, their daughter Lucy, and their new corgi puppy, Belly. He also loves sports, being outdoors, traveling, and time with family and friends.
We are excited to have Mr. Sherrow join the Break-O-Day community and look forward to the impact he will make with our students, staff, and families.

Second grade students learned about goods and services and ended their unit with a Market Day project! Students were able to shop and sell their goods and services!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the Johnson County Community Foundation for their generous $1,000 donation to Break-O-Day Elementary!
Because of their support, we were able to replace essential items in our Art and Music rooms — and we’re excited to share the new materials our students are already using and enjoying every day!
Earlier this January, a heating unit failure in the ceiling of the art room area caused unexpected damage within the building. Thanks to the quick response of our local fire department, the situation was quickly contained and our students were safely back in classrooms within just a few days.
However, the damage resulted in the loss of many valuable materials and supplies in both our Art and Music spaces.
🎶🎨 Thanks to this generous donation, those spaces are now fully restored and filled with the tools our students need to create, explore, and express themselves.

This week students in STEM enjoyed doing fun activities while learning about the Artemis II mission. In kindergarten and first grade we made straw rockets, then launched them. Second through 5th grade used a moon globe app to observe and log features of the Moon’s surface. All grades discussed why this mission is historic and how it will inform future space travel.

Both of these incredible educators were nominated, recognized and celebrated this morning by our school staff and their families! This week is National Assistant Principals Week, and we cannot go without recognizing the amazing work that Mr. H. does for our students, staff, and families! He helps everyone at our school feel safe, supported, and celebrated! We thank you for your continuous commitment to making Break-O-Day a wonderful school!
The BES Student Council chose to raise money for Riley Children's Health as a part of Kindness Week. Student council members organized and implemented "Coin Wars" during the week before spring break. Break-O-Day students had a blast donating money and competing in this activity, while also raising $2,150.98 for Riley!
On Wednesday, Break-O-Day Elementary was recognized at the Indiana Statehouse for their literacy achievement! Break-O-Day Elementary's IREAD results were amongst the very top of the State of Indiana for 2025 with a pass rate of 96%! Ms. Parry, our third grade reading teacher, Mrs. Parten, our English/Language Arts Instructional Coach, and Mrs. Shipp were able to attend the celebration to represent our school. We couldn't be more proud of our students, staff, and families, as it takes a team to reach this important goal!
Students had a blast getting creative with a special rock painting experience! Using their Warrior Way tickets, they earned the opportunity to design and paint their own unique rocks. We love seeing our students rewarded for showing the Warrior Way while expressing their creativity!

STEM students have spent the last 21 days learning about the chicken life cycle through observation. We started with 19 eggs & finished with 17 adorable chicks! After hatching, students were able to come through the STEM room to meet our new feathered friends.
Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation 5th Grade Students have the opportunity to sign-up for Band or Choir at CPMS for next year! Students can participate in these wonderful programs as part of their daily schedule if they choose to do so. Due to inclement weather, Clark-Pleasant Community Schools are on a 2-Hour Delay TODAY, Monday, March 2, 2026!
On Saturday, Break-O-Day Choir students performed in Circle the State with Song at Clark Pleasant Middle School! This is a statewide choral festival for elementary and middle school students. They worked so hard to prepare for this concert, and we are SO proud of them!!
Last Thursday, our students lined the halls to celebrate the Whiteland Girls Wrestling Team – STATE CHAMPIONS!
