SUPERINTENDENT'S COFFEE
You're invited to join Dr. Timothy Edsell, CPCSC Superintendent, for our next Superintendent's Coffee, Sept. 12th at 7pm. He will be discussing current initiatives and provide updates on events happening at CPCSC.

Dear Clark-Pleasant Families,
We would like to make you aware that a total solar eclipse will take place April 8, 2024. This eclipse will reach across 16 states but will be most prominent in Central Indiana, especially in Johnson County. Therefore like many nearby school districts, we are making plans for a synchronous E-Learning Day on 04/08/2024. We are making this decision out of an abundance of caution as the eclipse will take place in Indiana for over several hours. Additionally, we are being told by local emergency management officials that there will be a significant influx of visitors coming to our county during this time period creating major concerns with transportation and congestion.
The Butler University astronomy department projects the partial eclipse will begin in Indianapolis around 1:50 pm and that the total solar eclipse will occur at 3:06 pm and end at 3:09 pm. The partial eclipse will end at 4:23 pm.
While learning will continue online for this day it will be a great educational opportunity for our students to learn more about the solar system. We will provide more information as the date approaches but if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to your respective school building administrators. For more information on the path and viewing times of the eclipse please click on the link below.

Warriors of the Week "WOW"
Every week, each grade level and related arts class pick a student to be the Warrior of the Week or "WOW". These are students who were doing an excellent job of showing the Warrior Way. Students are announced every week during Monday morning announcements, and a slide show runs all week in the cafeteria during lunch times. Students receive a certificate with their picture, a coupon for a special treat, and 5 warrior way tickets. Then they sign their name to the "WOW" wall of fame in the office, and pose with Mrs. Shipp for a picture.
Great job to our WOWs for this week!

Whiteland Senior Soars High with Eagle Scout Project
WCHS Senior, Logan Bast, recently completed his Eagle Scout Project which benefits his school district. Logan worked with CPCSC Operations Director, Sam Arnes on coming up with and completing the project located in the 8-acre wooded area between Sawmill Woods and Break-O-Day Elementary. “I had a lot of different projects in mind but when Sam mentioned that I could do this one I thought it was where I could do the most good”, said Logan. “We’re really proud of Logan”, stated Arnes. “Anytime a young man is willing to do something this challenging and to give back to his community it’s a tribute to his family, teachers and scout leaders”.
The project consisted of rebuilding the classroom environment inside of the wooded space where Logan and those who volunteered also helped clear the trails by cutting and moving fallen trees and clearing overgrowth to create wider paths. Signs were also made to help identify some of the tree species found in the nature area. The classroom environment consisted of constructing new picnic style tables and benches all built by Logan’s troop, BSA Troop #615. Logan proudly wears a bright red neckerchief that differs a bit from his fellow troop members, that’s because it belonged to his grandfather when he was a scout.
Logan will be recognized for his efforts at a future Clark-Pleasant school board meeting.
