The future looked bright today at Clark-Pleasant Middle School where students continued to show their spirit for College Go Week by breaking out the NEON. Friday is Western Wear Day!
Tall Cop!
Tall Cop for families is coming to Center Grove October 30th at 6:30 in the high school auditorium. He will talk with families about current alcohol, drug, and concealment trends. All Johnson County School district families are invited to attend.

There will be a FREE children's concert on Sun, Sept. 24 at 4 p.m. It will be held at the Greenwood Amphitheater.
It will feature students from Greenwood, Clark-Pleasant, and Perry Meridian Middle School.

The Singing Teacher!
Eighth grade History teacher, Scott Parkhurst tends to employ unique teaching techniques to reach his students. Perhaps one of the most fun things he does is sing to them. Not just any song...he actually writes songs about the subject matter. Today the History Department celebrated Constitution Day so Mr. Parkhurst wrote a song about the Constitution. What some people may not know is that Mr. Parkhurst is an actual recording artist who recently released his debut album at an event in Franklin. The album completes four years of work and includes songs like; "My Cadillac" and "I Don't Write Love Songs". You can read more about it in NUVO.
We caught up with Mr. Parkhurst and his colleagues as they welcomed students this morning at CPMS.
Warriors Head North Tonight!
The Warriors face Perry Meridian tonight and a chance to bounce back after last weeks one point loss. Kick-off at Ray Skillman Family Field is 7:00 pm.

1-Mile Fun Run approximately 9:45 a.m.
Join us for this fun family event! This is a 5K run/walk and a 1-mile fun run hosted by Kelsay Farms which includes their fall activities. This is a fundraiser for the Education Foundation as well as each school's PTO and the new Jerry Lasiter Scholarship. You just pick who you are racing for during registration. Last day to sign up and guarantee a T-Shirt is Friday, September 22nd. To register click on the link at the bottom.

The 1-Mile Fun Run will have 1 overall winner and every participant gets a ribbon. Kelsay Farms will have their fall activities open from 10am-noon for racers prior to the public opening at 12pm. Your race bib will get you into the farm all day if you want to leave and come back later. This race is timed by Tuxedo Brothers and can be used as a qualifying event.

Our next Resource Drop-in Day is coming up tomorrow (Tuesday, September 12th), from 10 am-2 pm at Herring Hall at the Johnson County Fairgrounds (250 Fairgrounds Street, Franklin, IN 46131). We have a variety of organizations and providers already confirmed to attend the September event, including Johnson County Health Department, Johnson County Public Library, WIC, various mental health and substance use treatment providers, advocacy groups, adult education opportunities, a notary, insurance navigation, case management support, and more! The event is FREE and OPEN to ALL who can utilize Johnson County resources - no registration required.

A big congratulations to the WCHS Marching Warriors who opened their competitive season this weekend at the Lawrence Central Invitational. The band had a fantastic performance in front of a huge crowd of supporters.
They opened up their competitive season with being awarded Best Music, Best General Effect and 1st place in Class A!!!
They will be competing again this next weekend at Greenwood High School performing at 8:15 PM. Hope to see you there cheering on our Marching Warriors!

Dear Clark-Pleasant Families,
We would like to make you aware that a total solar eclipse will take place April 8, 2024. This eclipse will reach across 16 states but will be most prominent in Central Indiana, especially in Johnson County. Therefore like many nearby school districts, we are making plans for a synchronous E-Learning Day on 04/08/2024. We are making this decision out of an abundance of caution as the eclipse will take place in Indiana for over several hours. Additionally, we are being told by local emergency management officials that there will be a significant influx of visitors coming to our county during this time period creating major concerns with transportation and congestion.
The Butler University astronomy department projects the partial eclipse will begin in Indianapolis around 1:50 pm and that the total solar eclipse will occur at 3:06 pm and end at 3:09 pm. The partial eclipse will end at 4:23 pm.
While learning will continue online for this day it will be a great educational opportunity for our students to learn more about the solar system. We will provide more information as the date approaches but if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to your respective school building administrators. We are formatting our middle school program differently this year offering middle school meetings prior to each month's high school meeting. The goal is to help Middle School students feel more comfortable with their start in FFA!

The Indiana State Museum has an amazing opportunity coming up on September 28, 2023, called Space Day! They will have 11 community partners bringing hands on activities about space to share with students!
