Pleasant Crossing participated in our first annual Book Blast with Books Are Fun in November. Books Are Fun is dedicated to providing every child with books that spark a lifelong love of reading and learning, fueling their imagination and creating a brighter future for all. On Thursday students received their celebration books!
New K-5 Reading Curriculum Selection Process!
Clark-Pleasant is in the process of selecting a new reading curriculum for grades K-5. Parents and community members are invited to attend a vendor preview session alongside our staff to provide input on our final two options.

Due to the current winter weather conditions, Clark-Pleasant Community Schools has made the decision to do a 2-hour early dismissal from school today, Friday, January 10th.
Please refer to the infographic posted here and on ParentSquare that shows the early dismissal times for our buildings.
All after-school practices, games, events, and Honey Grove etc. are cancelled.

Building Stronger Readers!
Pleasant Crossing 2nd graders held a "Gingerbread" Readers Theater on Tuesday. Students enjoyed reading their work to their families, singing and putting a craft together. It's all part of becoming stronger readers.
PCES Wax Museum!
From Caitlin Clark to David Letterman to Baby Face Pleasant Crossing students took the assignment to learn as much about these famous Hoosiers as possible. Some even dressed the part of their character in Tuesday's PCES Wax Museum held in the school cafeteria.
The PCES Staff is celebrating Staff Spirit Day: Wearing flannels/plaid and celebrating the 80's for the 80th day of school!
The PCES team are PUMPED up for Day one of staff spirit day! 12 Days of Christmas: Workout Gear/Comfy Clothes.
PCES Awarded Writing Grant!
Mrs. Jaida Fishback, a fourth-grade writing teacher at Pleasant Crossing Elementary School, has received a grant that will benefit all students at PCES. The Clark-Pleasant Education Foundation recently applied for and was selected to receive this grant through DonorsChoose.org as part of a Classroom Resource Grants educational initiative. These grants are funded by the Big Ten Conference, the College Football Playoff Foundation, and Indiana Sports Corp. The additional resources will enhance and support educational opportunities within our writing classrooms. “I am pleased that our school has received this award and thrilled that your child will benefit from this project,” said Mrs. Fishback. Every writing teacher will work with their students to create a book that allows students to express their ideas creatively. This project will culminate in a family picnic at the end of the year. Mrs. Fishback has stated that her goal has been to make this activity bigger and better each year, and so far, that is happening.

PCES PTO Event Schedule for November and December
