Last night at the Clark-Pleasant Middle School Band Concert, we celebrated a truly special moment as Mr. Tim Rinehold was awarded the 2026 ISSMA Distinguished Service Award. 🎶🏆
The evening was also bittersweet as it marked the final middle school band concert for longtime CPMS Band Director Katy Briel, who is taking on a new role with ISSMA as the Instrumental Education Director after 20 years at CPMS. While we are excited for this incredible next chapter in her career, she will be greatly missed by the CPMS family. 💙
For the past 19 years as principal of CPMS, Mr. Rinehold has been an unwavering supporter of music, the arts, and student success. Through every challenge and every achievement, he made sure our music department had the resources, encouragement, and support needed to grow and thrive.
He has continuously promoted the success of our students to our school board and community through social media, newsletters, and countless conversations celebrating the incredible things happening at CPMS. His willingness to support our music programs is a huge reason why we have been able to host ISSMA events and continue earning the ISSMA All Music Award for our school community year after year.
As Mr. Rinehold retires at the end of this school year, this award serves as a heartfelt thank you for all he has done for our students, staff, and music programs throughout the last 19 years. He has built a foundation and legacy of excellence in music and the arts that will continue not only at CPMS, but throughout the entire Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation.
Congratulations, Mr. Rinehold, and thank you for the lasting impact you have made on generations of students. 💙

During May Mental Health Awareness Month, our Clark-Pleasant Middle School students are blooming with support! Our talented peer leaders have completed a beautiful new mural for the Sources of Strength campaign. The artwork features vibrant flowers where each petal is a hand—a powerful reminder that you’re not alone, and there’s always a helping hand nearby.
At CPMS, we believe in the power of connection and the strength we find in one another. Whether it’s a friend, a mentor, a counselor, or a specialist, support is always within reach. Check out these "helping hands" and remember that your story matters.
Throughout this month, students and staff will participate in interactive and meaningful activities that spread awareness about mental health. One activity is a riddle competition in homeroom. See if you know the answer: I am not a subject that you take in school, but learning about me helps you stay cool. I help you calm down when things get tough. What am I?

Celebrating the Heart of Our Schools
This time of year is filled with so many special moments as we recognize the incredible people who pour their hearts into serving our students and families each and every day.
Yesterday, at Clark-Pleasant Middle School they surprised their Employee of the Year winners during an after-school staff meeting — and it was a moment full of joy, gratitude, and a few happy tears.
👏 Classified Employee of the Year: Jill Stickels, Administrative Assistant/Registrar
👏 Certified Employee of the Year: Laney Sweeney, Teacher
👏 Classified Operations Employee of the Year: Rhonda Yates, Custodian
Each of these individuals represents the very best of what it means to serve others and make a difference in the lives of students.
And one moment that truly captured the spirit of the day… Laney’s surprise didn’t stop with the announcement. Her teaching team went above and beyond by inviting her entire family to be there — and her sweet girls even showed up dressed to match her. 💕 It was a beautiful reminder that the impact of a great educator extends far beyond the classroom.
As each of our schools celebrates their Classified and Certified Employees of the Year, we are reminded just how lucky we are to have such passionate, dedicated individuals across our district.
We are so grateful for ALL of our staff who show up every day to support, inspire, and care for our students. This work matters — and so do you.

🤖 Warriors Take the State Stage!
Our Clark-Pleasant Middle School VEX Robotics Team 26059B recently competed at the Indiana State Robotics Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium — the largest State Robotics Championship in the world!
Facing 100 of the top robotics teams in Indiana, our Warriors delivered their most consistent performance of the entire season, finishing 64th overall. While they weren’t able to advance to the finals this time, the experience of competing on such a big stage was incredible for our students.
Even more impressive, this team also earned a Sportsmanship Award earlier this season, a reflection of what makes Clark-Pleasant special:
✔ Student-Centered
✔ High Expectations
✔ Trusting Relationships
We are incredibly proud of these students for representing CPMS and the Warrior Family with innovation, teamwork, and integrity. Experiences like this show how our students are preparing for the future through STEM, problem-solving, and collaboration.
📸 Thank you to Julia Cascella-Tinkle for sharing photos from the State competition!
Way to go, Warriors! 💙🧡

All month long we’re highlighting the incredible professionals who help keep our Warriors healthy, safe, and competing at their best.
Today we’re recognizing Dr. Kalynn Condrey, the first full-time athletic trainer at Clark-Pleasant Middle School.

Kalynn joined the Clark-Pleasant athletic training staff in July 2024 and has quickly made an impact supporting our middle school athletes.
