On April 4th each year, National School Librarian Day recognizes the professionals who keep the school library in working order. School librarians spend long hours keeping the library organized. They are also dedicated to helping our children find the resources they need to keep learning. A BIG thank you to all of our great CPCSC School Librarians!

Paraprofessional Appreciation Day in 2025 is on Wednesday, April 2. This day is celebrated annually on the first Wednesday of April. Paraprofessionals, also known as paraeducators, are education assistants and instructional assistants. They play key roles in early education, special education, language acquisition, culturally relevant education, and family engagement. A BIG shoutout to all of our Paraprofessionals here at CPCSC for all you do!

Congratulations to Ellen Rice, a Resource Teacher from Ray Crowe Elementary, for being our March 2025 Certified Employee of the Month. She was recognized by Dr. Edsell during Monday nights school board meeting.

Ray Crowe kindergarten teacher, Jaymi Adams, was recognized by the school board, Monday night, for being the first in the district at completing the Indiana Wesleyan Step-Up program. The program allowed her the opportunity to get her dream job; becoming a full time teacher., "Around the time I was completing my courses at WGU, Clark Pleasant and Indiana Wesleyan University introduced the Step-Up program, and I was selected to pilot it", says Mrs. Adams. Initially, the program was projected to take 2-3 years, but given her desire and ability to complete the process it took just under six months, Congratulations Mrs. Adams.

Applying STEM!
This weekend, our Robotics Coaches (Elementary) hosted the first ever Robotics Scrimmage! All of our Robotics teams gathered to practice for their upcoming competition. In comparison to other districts, our program is quite "young." During this event, led by RCES's Sherry Pryor and Bree Brown, students were able to practice, fine-tune their robots, and discuss strategies to increase their competitive competencies.
The collaboration and interpersonal skills of our elementary students was impressive. Opportunities like these provide students opportunities to enhance their employability skills. Perhaps most importantly, it's another opportunity outside of fine arts and sports for students to experience a sense of belonging.
