Tennis Time! On Tuesday, we travelled to New Pal. The varsity won 4-1. The JV won 15-0. We host Plainfield on Thursday at 5:45.

PART OF SENIOR PARKING LOT CLOSED FOR PAVING ON 8/16/2023 Just wanted to make sure you are aware that tomorrow morning our new parking lot will be getting paved. This will require the construction crew to move their fencing, block an entrance on the northwest roundabout and block out some existing parking spaces to allow for the paving to occur correctly. Please see the map below for details. Students who have a space impacted by this must park in a non-senior designated area in the lots by door 7, door 4, or the tennis courts. Students can still access the parking lots via the roundabout but you have to use the second exit, not the first (see map below). The good news is the new lot will be ready for student and staff use this coming Monday August 21. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

The Next Level Jobs Workforce Ready Grant is a program that covers the tuition and fees of qualifying certificate programs (below): Advanced Manufacturing Building & Construction Health & Life Sciences IT & Business Services Transportation & Logistics **A military representative will also have a table in the lobby for those interested in the armed services. Whiteland FFA Rewarded for a Busy Summer! Now that they've had some time to recover, it’s time to show off our Whiteland FFA members success this county fair season! Between showing animals and running the ice sale fundraiser, they were busy!

Early Release Tomorrow! Starting tomorrow and each Wednesday throughout the school year we will have our Early Release Day! All buildings will release students 30 minutes early on Wednesday's. As a reminder to parents if you have a Pre-K, Kindergarten or Special Needs Student a parent or guardian needs to be present to get students off the bus when they arrive home. Thank you. Our Free and Reduced Application for the 2023-2024 school year will be available online starting Saturday July 22, 2023. You may access this application from the Food Service tab at the top of the Clark-Pleasant Community Schools website. A new free and reduced application must be submitted each school year.

Introducing Pearl! Clark-Pleasant is partnering with Ultimate Canine to add Pearl to the Warrior family. Pearl graduated on July 13th and has done great! Therapy dogs, like Pearl, have been proven to increase wellness and regulation skills for staff and students. Therapy dogs in schools help students learn social skills, prevent social isolation, aid in co-regulation, and decrease anxiety and depression. Schools that have therapy dogs have also seen a rise in attendance as well as reading. The University of California conducted a study involving therapy dog reading programs and found that struggling students reading to a dog were able to increase their reading fluency by 12-30%. Pearl will work with 9 certified handlers who can work with her in the school buildings or in the community. Our certified handlers from WCHS are Dana Griffin, Emily Pierce, and , from CES Dr. Brian Sloan, Heather Risley, and Alex Bailey, from CPMS Amanda Siemens, from CPELC Kristin Parisi, and Erica Garrity, Jeni Prenatt, and Dr. Connie Poston. Pearl made her first appearance before the school board on Tuesday evening. Welcome Pearl!

Welcome to High School! WCHS Freshman Orientation! Whiteland Community High School incoming freshman were at school Wednesday getting their ID pictures taken and checking out their classrooms. Students were even treated to lunch.

Congratulations Whiteland FFA Alum, Jenna Kelsay on being crowned 2023 Miss Johnson County! Also congratulations to Grace Ison, 1st Runner Up! Hoosier Ag Today is on the road at the Johnson County Fair as Jenna Kelsay was crowned Johnson County Fair Queen. The Whiteland FFA alum has already had a busy summer having completed her term as Southern Region Vice President for Indiana FFA during last month's state convention.
