2024 Lilly Scholar!
Congratulations to WCHS student, Haroon Mardanzai, who is a recipient of the 2024 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship. Haroon was recognized, by Dr. Edsell, for his major accomplishment during the January school board meeting, Monday night.
Thursday will be Whiteland Girls Basketball's "Pink Out" game against Southport! The team will wear pink jerseys recognizing cancer survivors and those going through treatment. There will be a silent auction with proceeds going to the Pink Ribbon Connection. Please join us!
Cool Art News!
Iris (Jackson) Cook, grade 12, won the Johnson County Public Library teen art contest for the 10th-12th grade category. Iris submitted a face mask sculpture entitled 'Iris in Bloom'.
Iris also had a ceramic slab box selected to be featured in a juried show in November at IU Bloomington. This piece was entitled "My Prison Box".
Iris was able to incorporate quite a bit of deeper meaning into the pieces and it's always cool seeing our students being able to be featured outside of school.

Due to the current winter weather conditions, Clark-Pleasant Community Schools has made the decision to do a 2-hour early dismissal from school today, Friday, January 10th.
Please refer to the infographic posted here and on ParentSquare that shows the early dismissal times for our buildings.
All after-school practices, games, events, and Honey Grove etc. are cancelled.

STATE BOUND!
With their sectional championship, Whiteland Girls Wrestling has qualified for team state on January 25! The Warriors will continue in the IHSAA State Tournament and then finish off the season in team duals looking for a title there as well.

"We are moving on to regionals as a team. Dean Rodgers is advancing in singles and Dean and Zachary Burnell were named all conference. It's been a good year but we are not done yet. We hope to push through to semi-state. Regionals are at classic Lanes in Bloomington on Saturday January 25th.

Girls PIN First Ever Sectional WrestlingTitle!!!
The #2 Warrior Girls Wrestling team won the first ever IHSAA sanctioned Sectional title at West Washington High School! This tournament featured 4 of the top 10 teams in the state of Indiana (3 of the top 5)! They took home three individual titles, and will advance 11 to next week's Mooresville Regional. With this win, they have also now qualified for the team state championship tournament that will take place at the conclusion of the individual state finals! Congratulations to all athletes and coaches!

Donuts with the Superintendent!
Dr. Edsell hosted some special helpers at his annual holiday donuts with the superintendent reception Friday. They are students in Ms. Bennett's "Bridges to Success Program", at WCHS. The students also help out at the administration building collecting recycling.
Dr. Edsell asked students what their favorite Christmas carol was and couple of the young men sang "Here Comes Santa Claus", for the group. The donuts as always were a big hit especially the ones with sprinkles.

What a fun morning! Today our Early College students were surprised with bags filled with treats to sustain them while they study for their upcoming finals. Thank you to Burlap ‘N Hope for creating our Whiteland Bags and thank you to Dr. Shipp, Mr. Brownfield, and our parent volunteers for helping CPEF hand out a little joy on this chilly day!
"Holiday Horns"
Clark-Pleasant Holiday Horns 2024! *Almost* all of our Clark-Pleasant french horns from 6th grade beginners to High School got together and sight read some holiday carols, ate “Wagels” (a horn tradition), and did a Secret Santa Gift Exchange.
Our CPMS 7th/8th grade Winter Concert is Tonight (Tuesday 12/10) at 7pm in the CPMS Gym
The WCHS Winter Concert is 7pm Thursday 12/12 in the WCHS auditorium
The CPMS Beginning Band Winter Concert is Monday 12/16 at 6:30pm in the CPMS Gym
Clark-Pleasant Education Foundation was thrilled to sponsor a breakfast for our Early College Program students Monday at Whiteland Community High School. Early College is a new program offered starting with our current Freshmen. Students in this program will earn their Associates Degree in tandem with their high school diploma. This program puts an emphasis not only on classwork but skills such as time management and networking. It also encourages the families of the students in the program to be a part of their journey. We had 3 parent volunteers who helped serve breakfast, and we want to give a big shout out to our food services team for catering this event. We are excited to see our Early College program mature and expand as our school system continues to grow.
