The WCHS Nutrition Pathway has been studying cultural traditions and influences to prepare for today’s soul food lunch celebrating Black History Month! Students drew from recipes created by the first professionally-trained chef in the country, Chef James Hemings, who trained in Paris and worked while enslaved for Thomas Jefferson, including his most famous dish, macaroni and cheese.
While enjoying pulled pork sandwiches, collard greens, green beans, and peach cobbler along with that macaroni and cheese; the students learned from firefighters what it’s like to drive an apparatus, including the importance of yielding for emergency vehicles. They were able to see onboard footage of actual runs with a firefighter, which expanded their perspective of public service. Engrossed, students asked great questions and learned the difference between an EMT and a Paramedic; as well as what training is required by various departments to work on their service.
Thanks to Whiteland FD for another great collaborative lunch!

Students in the WCHS Investment Club are already taking important steps toward financial independence. This student-led organization, with nearly 40 members, meets monthly during FIT to explore the fundamentals of investing and long-term financial planning. Through hands-on activities and guest speakers from the financial industry, students are gaining real-world skills they can carry with them long after graduation.
This year, every club member received a free club t-shirt thanks to the generosity of our community partners. We would like to thank:
👏 JCBank — as part of their Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation partnership sponsorship
👏 Ron Wallman
👏 Hoop Editz
Partnerships like these help us provide meaningful opportunities for students to learn beyond the classroom and connect their education to real life. We are grateful for the businesses and community members who continue to invest in our students and our schools.

WCHS Nutrition Science Pathway students visited the Whiteland Fire Department and served the crew a full Italian meal — tortellini soup, Caesar salad with homemade dressing, and tiramisu! They even got to see the firefighters head out on a call and come back to a hot meal waiting.
Proud of our students for giving back to the people who take care of our community every day.

It’s been one of those weeks — full of snow days, two-hour delays, and a whole lot of flexibility. As we head into Friday, January 30, Clark-Pleasant Schools will once again operate on a 2-Hour Delay.
Thank you to our families for your patience, our students for rolling with the changes, and our incredible staff for adapting day after day to keep learning moving forward. A special shout-out to our maintenance, grounds, transportation, and custodial teams who’ve been working around the clock to keep our buildings, parking lots, and buses safe in tough winter conditions.
Here’s to a smooth, safe end to the week — and maybe a little less snow in the forecast ahead. Stay warm and have a great Friday, Warrior family!

After several days of snow and synchronous e-learning, we are looking forward to welcoming students back tomorrow with a modified schedule.
Temperatures are expected to remain cold tomorrow morning. If possible, please help students dress in layers or wear weather-appropriate clothing to stay comfortable while traveling to school and during arrival. As always, our schools will continue to support students as needed to ensure everyone is safe and cared for.
We truly appreciate your patience, flexibility, and partnership over the past several days.
If there are any additional changes, families will be notified via ParentSquare, and updates will also be shared on our social media platforms and with local news outlets.
Additional details will be shared by individual schools or teachers as needed. We look forward to seeing our students tomorrow.

Due to updated weather reports and new information received in the last hour, Clark-Pleasant Community Schools will now be CLOSED tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Instead, we will move to a synchronous (LIVE) e-learning day for all students.
Teachers will share specific expectations, schedules, and login information directly with students and families.
Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we continue to make decisions with the safety of our students and staff as our top priority.
Stay safe and warm

Updated: We will now be CLOSED with a SYNCHRONOUS (LIVE) E-Learning Day Tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28th
2-Hour Delay with NO EARLY RELEASE – Wednesday, January 28, 2026
Due to cold temperatures and inclement weather, Clark-Pleasant Community Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28, 2026. There will be NO early release.
More detailed information will be shared by your individual teacher or school as needed. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.
Stay warm, and thank you for your continued support.

Clark-Pleasant Community Schools – E-Learning Day
Tuesday, January 27, 2026
Due to inclement weather, all Clark-Pleasant school buildings will be CLOSED tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
However, students WILL participate in a SYNCHRONOUS (LIVE) e-Learning Day.
🔹 What this means for families:
Students do NOT report to school buildings
Students WILL log in from home to attend live online classes with their teachers
The State of Indiana allows schools to use three asynchronous e-learning days, where students complete work independently. Those days have already been used. As a result, we are now operating under Synchronous (Live) e-Learning, which requires students to log in and participate in real-time instruction.
Each school will be sending families specific schedule and login information so students know when and where to join their live sessions.
Thank you for your flexibility and partnership as we keep students learning while keeping everyone safe.

Tune in TONIGHT!
Our Wrestlers Peyton Nedelsky and Marin Wigginton along with Coach Nedelsky will be on WISH-TV with Anthony Calhoun tonight at 6:30pm!

The Whiteland Community High School Nutrition Pathway students took their learning beyond the classroom by cooking lunch for the Whiteland Fire Department A Shift!
Students planned a nutritionally balanced meal tailored to the demands of a working firefighter meeting state standards from start to finish. After prepping in our classroom kitchens, they headed to the firehouse to prepare Hawaiian Chicken with peppers and onions, coconut rice, and Hawaiian butter mochi for dessert. The menu delivered protein for muscle repair, carbohydrates for energy, and essential vitamins and minerals to support peak performance plus coconut milk to help make nutrients more bioavailable.
Beyond cooking, students connected with firefighters and learned the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and relying on one another’s strengths to achieve shared goals. This partnership gives students hands-on experience planning, preparing, and scaling meals for specific dietary needs while serving others in our community.
We’re excited to see this partnership grow and these skills continue to develop in the weeks ahead! More information about this partnership will be shared in our bi-weekly corporation newsletter The Clark-Pleasant Chronicle 👩🍳👨🍳🚒
