Kelly brings a wealth of educational experience to Clark-Pleasant. She spent 15 years in the classroom, most recently teaching at Center Grove Middle School Central, before joining Ray Crowe in 2021 as the school's MTSS Coach. After helping open the school and serving the Ray Crowe community for three years, Kelly spent the past year as Assistant Principal at Clear Creek Elementary and Summit Elementary in Monroe County Community Schools.
Now, she's excited to return to the school community she already knows and loves.
"My leadership philosophy is rooted in building strong relationships and helping create a positive school culture where students and staff can thrive. I value teamwork and collaboration while celebrating diversity and individuality."
Outside of school, Kelly and her husband, Matt, have been married for 33 years and are the proud parents of three children and grandparents to two grandchildren. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Kathryn joined Clark-Pleasant in 2024 as Dean of Students at WCHS, where she has worked closely with students and families while supporting student success both academically and personally.
Originally from Michigan, Kathryn earned her bachelor's degrees in Spanish and Mathematics Education from Central Michigan University before earning her master's degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas. Her career began as a high school math teacher in Tennessee before moving to Indiana, where she taught middle school mathematics and later served as an instructional coach.
Outside of school, Kathryn and her husband, Caleb, who is also a math teacher, enjoy spending time with their two daughters, Elouise (3) and Vera (2 months). As a family, they love exploring parks, reading together, hiking in the mountains, and swimming during family vacations.
Kathryn has also coached both middle and high school volleyball and high school soccer throughout her career. As a former multi-sport athlete, she enjoys supporting students both inside and outside the classroom.

Last week, Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation officially broke ground on the future home of the JCBank Fieldhouse at Whiteland Community High School! 🎉🏗️
This project represents more than a new facility—it is an investment in the future of Warrior students, providing expanded opportunities for athletics, activities, and our community for generations to come.

Mark will be serving as the Dean of Students for the Class of 2028 at Whiteland Community High School for the 2026-2027 school year.
Mark brings more than a decade of educational leadership experience to Clark-Pleasant. Before joining our district, he spent the past 11 years at Waldron Junior-Senior High School, serving as principal for seven years after four years as assistant principal and athletic director. He began his career as a math teacher at North Montgomery High School, where he also coached boys and girls golf.
A proud graduate of Indiana University, Mark enjoys cheering on the Hoosiers at football and basketball games with his family. In his free time, you'll often find him on the golf course, visiting race tracks across the country, or reading a great non-fiction book or biography.
Mark and his wife, Morgan, have been married for 10 years and have proudly called this community home throughout that time. They have two children—Peyton, who is starting kindergarten this fall, and Reagan, who is beginning preschool—as well as an Aussiedoodle named Remy.
Mark shared that he is excited to serve the Whiteland community and looks forward to building strong relationships with students, families, and staff while helping make every student's high school experience a positive and successful one.

🏆 Congratulations to the Clark-Pleasant Early Learning Center on being recognized with the Data Champion Award at the Pyramid Model Celebration! We are incredibly proud to celebrate Laura Dalton, our Pyramid Model Practitioner Coach at CPELC, for being named Indiana’s Coach of the Year!
This award recognizes the Early Learning Center's commitment to using data to support the successful implementation of the Pyramid Model—an evidence-based framework that helps create positive learning environments where every child can learn, grow, and thrive. By using meaningful data to guide instruction and decision-making, our educators are creating classrooms where students are supported from the very beginning of their educational journey.
"Clark-Pleasant Early Learning Center is approaching its third year of participation in the Indiana Department of Education's Pyramid Model Grant, and we were honored to receive the Data Champion Award at last month's statewide Celebration Event," said Megan Smallwood, Director of the Clark-Pleasant Early Learning Center. What an incredible accomplishment for our Whiteland Community High School FFA members!
At the 2026 Indiana FFA State Convention, our students earned three State Championship titles, multiple Hoosier FFA Degrees, and even made history with the convention's first-ever Spanish Opening Ceremonies presentation.
Congratulations to:
🏆 Jack Kelsay – State Champion, Employment Skills
🏆 Miklo Ortiz & Addie Corn – State Champions, Model of Excellence: Growing Leaders
🏆 Madeline Armstrong & Jack Kelsay – State Champions, Model of Excellence: Building Communities
Several students also earned the prestigious Hoosier FFA Degree, one of the highest honors awarded by Indiana FFA.
These accomplishments are a testament to the hard work, leadership, and dedication of our students, advisors, and the entire Whiteland FFA program. We are proud to see our Warriors representing Clark-Pleasant and the State of Indiana on the national stage this fall!

IN THE NEWS: Clark Elementary Student Earns National Recognition!
Congratulations to Elana Van Deman, a Clark Elementary School student, for earning a spot among the winners of the national America's Field Trip contest!
Out of 125 students selected nationwide, Elana was the only winner from Indiana—an incredible accomplishment that showcases her outstanding writing, creativity, and thoughtfulness.
As part of her award, Elana will travel to Washington, D.C. for an unforgettable three-day, two-night experience. During the trip, she'll receive an exclusive early visit to the new National Geographic Museum of Exploration and participate in a private Smithsonian Sleepover at the National Museum of American History on the National Mall. She'll even have the opportunity to explore the museum's special America250 anniversary exhibit after hours—a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
One of the things Elana is most excited about is having free time in the evening to see the White House while she's in our nation's capital.
We are incredibly proud of Elana for representing Clark Elementary, Clark-Pleasant, and the State of Indiana on the national stage.

🌽🏆 Whiteland FFA Brings Home Three State Championships and Makes History at the Indiana FFA Convention!
Whiteland FFA returned from the 2026 Indiana FFA State Convention with an incredible list of accomplishments, including three State Champion titles and several other prestigious honors!
🥇 Jack Kelsay – State Champion, Employment Skills
After winning the district contest in March, Jack captured the state title by completing a full employment scenario that included a job application, cover letter, resume, interview, and follow-up email. He will represent Indiana at the National FFA Convention this October!
🥇 Miklo Ortiz & Addie Corn – State Champions, Model of Excellence: Growing Leaders
Miklo and Addie showcased how Whiteland FFA develops student leaders and earned a trip to Nationals with their winning presentation.

Jack Kelsay, Madeline Armstrong, Leahla Fewell, Maddox McCann, Addie Corn, and Pyper Ellis earned the Hoosier FFA Degree, one of the highest honors bestowed by Indiana FFA.

Miklo Ortiz was selected as one of just six Indiana FFA members to recite the FFA Opening Ceremonies in Spanish—the first time this has ever been done at the Indiana FFA State Convention! He delivered his remarks in front of more than 1,200 attendees. A special thank you to Mr. Aguilar for encouraging and helping prepare Miklo for this historic opportunity.
Congratulations to all of our outstanding FFA members and advisors on an incredible year. Your hard work, leadership, and commitment to serving others continue to make Whiteland proud.

Congratulations to Annie Schneider on Her New Role as Assistant Principal at Clark-Pleasant Middle School!
Please join us in congratulating Annie Schneider as she steps into her new role as Assistant Principal at Clark-Pleasant Middle School!
As Annie begins her 23rd year in education, she continues a remarkable career that has been spent entirely serving Clark-Pleasant students and families. Over the years, she has impacted countless lives as a teacher, counselor, dean, tennis coach, FCA leader, and now assistant principal.
A proud graduate of Butler University, Annie is an enthusiastic supporter of Butler athletics and remains deeply committed to lifelong learning and student success.
When she's not at school, Annie enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters, and their dog, Winnie. She loves reading, playing the occasional game of pickleball, and is rarely seen without a speaker nearby—because, as she says, every occasion is made better with the perfect playlist!
"Clark-Pleasant is very special to me, and middle school is my passion. I have worked alongside so many wonderful people along the way, and I have been fortunate enough to experience many facets of education that have molded me into the educator I am today. I am excited to continue to learn and grow!"

📢 Referendum Renewal to Appear on November Ballot
At its June 15 meeting, the Clark-Pleasant Community School Board of Trustees unanimously approved a resolution to place an operating referendum renewal on the November 2026 ballot.
If approved by voters, the proposed referendum would continue funding for:
🟠Clark-Pleasant Police Department
🟠 Student Support Services
🟠 Student Health Services
The proposal includes a maximum tax rate of $0.09 per $100 of assessed property value for up to eight years. This represents a reduction from the current referendum rate of $0.10 per $100 of assessed property value.
The Board's action places the question before voters this November. Additional information regarding the referendum, district finances, and community engagement opportunities will be shared throughout the summer and fall.
