Last week, our Clark-Pleasant Transportation Department gathered for a professional learning session led by Dr. Ruby Butler, reflecting on the powerful role our bus drivers and transportation assistants play in the lives of students.
Before attendance is taken…
Before a teacher greets them at the classroom door…
For many students, the first adult they interact with each day is their bus driver.
During the session, drivers and assistants talked about the impact of small moments—
• greeting a student by name
• offering a calm presence
• noticing when a student may be having a difficult morning
Those moments can shape how a student walks into school and how ready they are to learn.
Our transportation staff do far more than drive routes. They create the space between home and school where students can feel safe, seen, and ready for the day ahead.
At Clark-Pleasant, professional learning happens in many ways and across many roles because every interaction with a student matters.
Sometimes the most important part of a student’s day happens before the bell ever rings. 💙🧡

March is National Athletic Training Month
All month long we’re highlighting the dedicated athletic trainers who care for our student-athletes and help keep Warriors healthy, safe, and competing at their best.
Today we’re introducing Chris Switzer, one of the newest members of the Whiteland athletic training team.
Education
🎓 B.S. Exercise Science – University of Indianapolis
🎓 M.S. Athletic Training – University of Indianapolis
Chris joined the Whiteland athletic training staff in July 2025 and quickly became an important part of the Warrior family.
What he loves most about the job is helping student-athletes grow while solving the “mystery” behind injuries.
“Each injury is different. Sometimes I have to play detective to figure out what’s going on and how to solve it.”
Chris says what makes Whiteland special is the team and family atmosphere that surrounds the athletic program.
Favorite Memory This Year
⚽ Watching boys soccer win the sectional title in overtime
⚡ And the unforgettable night the football stadium lights went out and the baseball game was shown on the big screen while JCREMC worked to fix the lights!
When he’s not helping athletes recover, Chris enjoys running and spending time with his fiancée.
Thank you for helping take care of our Warriors, Chris! 💙🧡
➡️ Stay tuned as we continue celebrating our Clark-Pleasant athletic trainers throughout National Athletic Training Month.

For the second year in a row, students from Whiteland Community High School jumped into the icy waters of Eagle Creek as part of the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Indiana.
Members of Unified Flag Football, Unified Track, Unified Cheer, Best Buddies, and the Athletic Leadership Council came together to raise $3,775 in support of Special Olympics athletes across Indiana.
And the Warriors didn’t just show up — they showed out!
🏆 WCHS earned the Team Spirit Award for bringing incredible energy and enthusiasm to the event.
We are proud of these students for championing inclusion, teamwork, and leadership while supporting a cause that makes sports accessible for all.
Thank you to everyone who helped support WCHS Unified Sports and Special Olympics Indiana!

Students had the chance to earn special blue Warrior Way tickets in honor of Daphne’s birthday, and the excitement was real! Last Friday afternoon, we drew eight lucky winners who got to spend some extra time celebrating with everyone’s favorite school pup.
During the party, Daphne:
🐶 Solved her treat puzzle
🐶 Showed off her commands
🐶 Enjoyed lots of well-earned cuddles
Moments like this remind us how much joy Daphne brings to our school community every day. She truly is a special part of the Ray Crowe family. 💙🧡
Happy 3rd Birthday, Daphne!

Our Whiteland Community High School Envirothon Team Blue brought home 1st place at the Regional Envirothon Competition!
Envirothon is a hands-on environmental science competition where students test their knowledge in five key areas:
🦌 Wildlife
🌲 Forestry
💧 Aquatic Ecology
🌱 Soil & Land Use
🌎 Current Environmental Issue (this year: non-point source pollution — “It Begins at Home”)
Students learned from environmental science professionals and competed in a challenging exam covering these topics.
Because of their first-place finish, Team Blue will now advance to the Indiana State Envirothon Competition on April 29 in West Lafayette, where they’ll tackle another test and deliver a presentation.
We’re also proud of Team Orange, who represented Whiteland well and competed strongly throughout the day!
Envirothon is a nationally recognized competition with students participating across the United States, Canada, and China — and our Warriors are proving they can compete with the best.
Congratulations, Warriors! 💙🧡

The WCHS Nutrition students shared some new skills with the firehouse! Students made fresh cheese from scratch, and then simmered it in a scratch-made tomato sauce, for batch of Paneer Masala with Jasmine Rice. They served their delicious Indian meal with refreshing Mango Lassis. They discussed different meal plans and ideas with the firefighters, and chatted about their future goals after school.
We have been so fortunate to have established this partnership with members of our community. The students are learning a lot from these service-minded professionals, and are having meaningful conversations about what they’ll do after high school- Enroll in further education, Enlist in the armed forces, or Employment directly after school. While they’re focused on their future plans, they’re learning healthy and delicious meals - that’s a win-win!
Great food.
Great conversations.
Great community partnerships.
That’s the Warrior Way. 💙🧡

Our elementary Warriors are celebrating literacy in BIG and creative ways!
At Whiteland Elementary School, students enjoyed special guest readers — including Dr. Tim Edsell, Superintendent, who dressed up as the Man in the Yellow Hat from Curious George! 💛
He was joined by Dr. Cassandra Shipp, Assistant Superintendent, and Jenny Zahm, Communications Coordinator — all taking time to read and connect with students.
Meanwhile, at Ray Crowe Elementary School, literacy has turned into a tournament! 🏀📖 Students are participating in a March Madness-style Book Bracket Challenge, where guest readers share competing stories and students vote to advance their favorites — all leading to a champion book! 👑
From costumed characters to competitive book brackets, our schools are showing that reading is powerful, joyful, and worth celebrating.
Keep turning those pages, Warriors! 💙🧡

🏀📚 Clark-Pleasant Class is Dancing into the Elite Eight! 📚🏀
March Madness isn’t just happening on the court, it’s happening in our classrooms too!
Mrs. Debbie Campbell’s 3rd grade class at Ray Crowe Elementary is officially headed to the Elite Eight in the Indiana K-12 March Madness Bracket Challenge! This statewide competition, hosted by Indiana Sports Corp in partnership with the NCAA, invites teachers to bring the excitement of basketball into learning, and our students are all in.
Mrs. Campbell signed her class up back in November, and the experience has already been a slam dunk! The students have:
📦 Received multiple boxes of prizes
📚 Each student received Scholastic books
✏️ Colored pencil kits and supply pouches
😎 Read to the Final Four pencils, erasers, sunglasses, and slap bracelets
🧠 Used the bracket to support math, prediction, and classroom engagement activities
The kids were especially excited to receive their new books this morning!
Now the pressure is on they only have one more school to beat to make the Final Four! If they advance, the class could even earn a FREE field trip!
We love seeing our teachers find creative ways to connect learning with real-world excitement, and what better way in Indiana than basketball season?
Let’s cheer on our Ray Crowe students as they continue their tournament run!
👏 Good luck, Warriors! We’re rooting for you!

Congratulations to CPMS VEX Robotics Team 26059B on qualifying for the Indiana State Robotics Championship on Saturday, March 14th!
This year’s championship — hosted by TechPoint Foundation for Youth — will be held at none other than Lucas Oil Stadium, making it the largest State Robotics Championship in the world.
That means our Clark-Pleasant middle school students will compete on one of the biggest stages in Indiana — showing that academic competitions like robotics deserve the same spotlight as athletics.
Even more impressive?
This team also earned a Sportsmanship Award at their most recent competition — a true reflection of who we are:
✔ Student Centered
✔ High Expectations
✔ Trusting Relationships
We are incredibly proud of these Warriors for representing Clark-Pleasant with excellence, integrity, and innovation.
Good luck at State, Team 26059B — the entire Warrior Family will be cheering you on! 💙🧡
