🏀📚 Clark-Pleasant Class is Dancing into the Elite Eight! 📚🏀

March Madness isn’t just happening on the court, it’s happening in our classrooms too!

Mrs. Debbie Campbell’s 3rd grade class at Ray Crowe Elementary is officially headed to the Elite Eight in the Indiana K-12 March Madness Bracket Challenge! This statewide competition, hosted by Indiana Sports Corp in partnership with the NCAA, invites teachers to bring the excitement of basketball into learning, and our students are all in.

Mrs. Campbell signed her class up back in November, and the experience has already been a slam dunk! The students have:
📦 Received multiple boxes of prizes
📚 Each student received Scholastic books
✏️ Colored pencil kits and supply pouches
😎 Read to the Final Four pencils, erasers, sunglasses, and slap bracelets
🧠 Used the bracket to support math, prediction, and classroom engagement activities

The kids were especially excited to receive their new books this morning!

Now the pressure is on they only have one more school to beat to make the Final Four! If they advance, the class could even earn a FREE field trip!

We love seeing our teachers find creative ways to connect learning with real-world excitement, and what better way in Indiana than basketball season?

Let’s cheer on our Ray Crowe students as they continue their tournament run!
👏 Good luck, Warriors! We’re rooting for you!

STATE BOUND, WARRIORS!

Congratulations to CPMS VEX Robotics Team 26059B on qualifying for the Indiana State Robotics Championship on Saturday, March 14th!

This year’s championship — hosted by TechPoint Foundation for Youth — will be held at none other than Lucas Oil Stadium, making it the largest State Robotics Championship in the world.

That means our Clark-Pleasant middle school students will compete on one of the biggest stages in Indiana — showing that academic competitions like robotics deserve the same spotlight as athletics.

Even more impressive?
This team also earned a Sportsmanship Award at their most recent competition — a true reflection of who we are:

✔ Student Centered
✔ High Expectations
✔ Trusting Relationships

We are incredibly proud of these Warriors for representing Clark-Pleasant with excellence, integrity, and innovation.

Good luck at State, Team 26059B — the entire Warrior Family will be cheering you on! 💙🧡

🎶🧡 A look into the future! 💙🎤

On Thursday, the Whiteland Community High School choirs visited Clark-Pleasant Middle School to perform for our current choir students.

Rhythm Masters and Expressions shared part of their show choir sets and talked about what it’s really like to be in the WCHS choir program. They talked about performances, competitions, friendships, and confidence on stage.

Our students didn’t just hear about high school opportunities, they got to see them.

We can’t wait to see these CPMS singers on that stage soon!

Back at the Firehouse: Students Cook, Firefighters Teach

The WCHS Nutrition Pathway has been studying cultural traditions and influences to prepare for today’s soul food lunch celebrating Black History Month! Students drew from recipes created by the first professionally-trained chef in the country, Chef James Hemings, who trained in Paris and worked while enslaved for Thomas Jefferson, including his most famous dish, macaroni and cheese.

While enjoying pulled pork sandwiches, collard greens, green beans, and peach cobbler along with that macaroni and cheese; the students learned from firefighters what it’s like to drive an apparatus, including the importance of yielding for emergency vehicles. They were able to see onboard footage of actual runs with a firefighter, which expanded their perspective of public service. Engrossed, students asked great questions and learned the difference between an EMT and a Paramedic; as well as what training is required by various departments to work on their service.

Thanks to Whiteland FD for another great collaborative lunch!

🎓💙🧡 A Proud Moment for the Whiteland Community

In a school community like ours, students don’t grow up alone. They are supported by teachers who encourage them, coaches who challenge them, families who cheer them on, and classmates who walk beside them every step of the way.

Today, we are honored to celebrate two students who have truly made the most of every opportunity during their time at Whiteland Community High School.

Please join us in congratulating the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the Class of 2026.

Valedictorian — Ashley Cooprider

Ashley has served as Secretary of Student Health Services and has been actively involved in National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Outside of school, she is highly involved in her church youth group and has been a varsity athlete in both soccer and track.

She plans to attend Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to study Computer Science while continuing her track career.

“I have served as Secretary of SHS and participated in NHS and FCA throughout high school. I am also highly involved in my church youth group and have been a varsity athlete in both soccer and track. I plan to attend Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to study Computer Science and continue my track career.”

Salutatorian — Madison Fleury

Madison has been a member of both the varsity soccer and track teams and has participated in National Honor Society and the Athletic Leadership Council.

She will also attend Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, where she plans to continue both her academic journey and her soccer and track career.

“I have been a part of both the varsity soccer and track team. I participated in NHS and Athletic Leadership Council. I am going to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to continue my academic, soccer, and track career.”

Ashley and Madison represent the heart of Whiteland. They are students who have worked hard, lifted up their teammates and classmates, and made their school better simply by being part of it.

To their families, teachers, and coaches , thank you for helping guide them to this moment.

And to Ashley and Madison… your Warrior family will always be cheering for you.

Margot Sheets has called Whiteland home for nearly two decades. She works as a Nurse Practitioner with the hospitalist group at Hendricks Regional Health, and her connection to Clark-Pleasant runs even deeper — all four of her children have gone through our schools.

“I love this community and am so grateful to serve as an ambassador for the school system.”

As a parent, professional, and long-time resident, Margot brings valuable perspective to the Ambassador Academy and helps strengthen the connection between our schools and the community we serve.

📈💼 Learning to Invest in Their Future 💼📈

Students in the WCHS Investment Club are already taking important steps toward financial independence. This student-led organization, with nearly 40 members, meets monthly during FIT to explore the fundamentals of investing and long-term financial planning. Through hands-on activities and guest speakers from the financial industry, students are gaining real-world skills they can carry with them long after graduation.

This year, every club member received a free club t-shirt thanks to the generosity of our community partners. We would like to thank:

👏 JCBank — as part of their Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation partnership sponsorship
👏 Ron Wallman
👏 Hoop Editz

Partnerships like these help us provide meaningful opportunities for students to learn beyond the classroom and connect their education to real life. We are grateful for the businesses and community members who continue to invest in our students and our schools.

Club President (2025–2026): Aiden Vargo
Teacher Sponsor: Christa Rinehold

Thank you for helping prepare our students for bright futures!

Last night our Clark-Pleasant Ambassador Academy got a behind-the-scenes look at something every student experiences every day… FOOD! 🍎🥕🥛

Our Ambassadors heard from Lauren Jones, Director of Food Services, who walked them through everything it takes to feed our students — and it is far more complex than most people realize.

Across all 8 schools, our food service team:
• Serves breakfast and lunch district-wide
• Provides snacks for Honey Grove after-school care
• Operates with 8 managers, 3 assistant managers, and roughly 55–60 additional staff members
• Follows strict USDA nutrition guidelines for sodium, whole grains, calories, and vegetable variety
• Accommodates food allergies and dietary needs
• Works to honor the cultural preferences of our growing community

And the numbers are incredible…

Last school year alone, Clark-Pleasant served 1,147,842 meals — that’s over 1.1 MILLION meals to our students! 💙🧡
(333,391 breakfasts and 814,461 lunches!)

Food Services is also a fully self-funded department, operating entirely through meal purchases and federal reimbursement — not local tax dollars.

Our Ambassadors also learned about new technology being implemented this year. The new finger-scan point-of-sale system identifies students in under a second, prevents incorrect charges, and allows families to track purchases and payments more easily through Skyward.

Of course… learning about school meals wouldn’t be complete without experiencing it!
The group went through the cafeteria line and enjoyed a real student meal — burrito bowls — before touring the brand-new WCHS cafeteria space opening this July.

It was a great night learning just how much planning, regulation, and care goes into making sure our students are fed every single day. We are grateful to Lauren Jones and the entire Clark-Pleasant Food Service team for the work they do to support student success.
