Clark-Pleasant Community Schools Corporation proudly recognizes August 9, 2023 as International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. The International Day of the World’s Indigenous People on August 9 pays tribute to the Indigenous communities of the world. The latest data reveals that there are about 370 to 500 million indigenous people living in 90 countries. The U.N. National Night Out! Thanks to those who attended CPPD's first annual National Night Out. The community event to honor and pay respect to our first responders appeared to be a big hit especially with young students. They were able to enjoy face painting, cotton candy, bounce houses and a dunk tank. Everyone enjoyed the free hot dogs, drinks, chips and treats. A special thanks to Officer Talia Adkins and members of the Clark-Pleasant Police Department for organizing the effort.

Whiteland Elementary Update! Just a quick update on the status of Whiteland Elementary School. Restoration crews were able to make great progress in cleaning up the water damage that occurred overnight. To be very clear, there were about 4-5 classrooms that experienced water damage to the carpet tiles, supplies, books, equipment, ceiling tiles, etc., which occurred in one section of the school. The rest of the elementary school did not experience any damage. Therefore, Whiteland Elementary School will be open for classes Thursday morning July 27th. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to the first day of classes for WES students tomorrow.

Dr. Schilawski Receives Patriotic Employer Award! Clark-Pleasant Human Resource Director, Dr. John Schilawski has been awarded The Patriotic Employer award from the office of The Secretary of Defense. The award is for contributing to National Security and Protecting Liberty and Freedom by supporting employer participation in America’s National Guard and Reserve Force. “I was surprised to be nominated for the award”, says Dr. Schilawski. “As a school corporation we have always been supportive of those who serve and to allow them the time they need to meet their obligations”. John says he was nominated for the award by a former employee who’s a member of the Indiana National Guard. He was presented the certificate by Ken Smith who’s a local volunteer for Employer Support for the Guard and Reserves. ESGR
