CES students had the opportunity to visit with our special guests today...Lucky and Seabiscuit. These are very gentle mini horses from Mrs. Dougherty's farm.

The CES staff and students did a huge clap out for Super Dave yesterday, our head custodian, as he is retiring at the end of this year. He will be missed!

Former CES students, who are graduating from high school this year, returned to CES to be recognized by our current staff and students. Congratulations!

The CES students who helped Nurse Emily throughout the year took this group photo right before enjoying their pizza!

Our Pre-K students have been learning about dinosaurs and making fossils...so a friendly T-Rex stopped by for a visit to hear about all they have learned.

Our CES Pre-K students got to have a short visit with Sally yesterday.

We had another wonderful 4th grade program last night! Ms. Arndt is so good at making these experiences fun for our students while showcasing all of their musical talents and growth throughout the year.
Thank you also to Ms. Alvarez, our student teacher, who also helped our students grow.

Congratulations to Mrs. Shepple, who was surprised by Mr. Wallman from Horace Mann, with a $50 check.

📣Now Accepting Applications: Ambassador Academy Cohort 3 for the 2026-2027 school year!
Have you ever wondered what really goes into running a school district?
From transportation and food service to school finance, academics, and everything in between—our Ambassador Academy offers a behind-the-scenes look at the work happening every day to support our students and staff.
We’re excited to open up applications for Cohort 3!
Throughout the year, ambassadors will:
🔍 Go behind the scenes in our schools and departments
👥 Meet directly with district leaders and administrators
🏫 Tour facilities and see projects in action
💡 Gain a deeper understanding of how decisions are made
🤝 Build connections with others in the community
This program is designed for parents, local business owners, and community members who want to learn more, get involved, and help share the story of our schools.

CES Pre-K class is enjoying observing our five new butterflies! The students have been drawing colorful pictures of rainbows, flowers, butterflies, and bees, inspired by what they see. We’ve been closely watching as the butterflies land on the peaches to drink nectar, which has sparked lots of curiosity and conversation. This hands-on experience is helping students connect art, nature, and science in a meaningful and engaging way. 🦋🌈🌸

Ms. Arndt had a wonderful wrap up with her Folk Dance Club this past weekend.
We so appreciate her time and skills along with the students and parents as it was another great experience for our CES students!

Lt. Foley and Sally stopped by to see the students today, and he shared the newest photo of Sally.
Pre-K has been learning all about Earth Day and recycling this week! 🌎 Today, we celebrated Earth Day by creating our own planet and showing it some love. The students learned that throwing trash on the playground is not safe—it can be dangerous for animals and even for us, depending on what the trash is. We are working together to take care of our Earth!

CES student Sophie Wethington was recognized at the school board meeting this week for earning a perfect score on IRead. Thomas Newman also achieved the same accomplishment, but he was unable to attend.
We are very proud of both of these students as well as all of our 2nd grade students who passed IRead as 2nd graders!
