Officer Storm brought Casper in today to meet some of the students. Casper is a 5 year old Huskie trained police dog, but he prefers to give kisses and be pet as he's also a therapy dog.

Please see the attachment from our PTO for a fun way you can help support our CES PTO next Tuesday, August 19.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Thank you for a great year!

We had over 80 seniors stop by early this morning as they did a quick walk through our halls as our students sat in the hallways and clapped and cheered for them. Many of the seniors were former students here at CES...a fun trip for them down memory lane.
Sally was also sorry to see them leave as she watched patiently.

**District Literacy Contest Announcement!**
Ruby Butler, the Culture & Belonging Coordinator, recognized the winners of the "3rd Annual CPCSC District Literacy Contest" at a school board meeting on Wednesday night. Students in grades 3-12 were allowed to showcase their poetry skills, with nearly 200 poems submitted this year!
The theme of the contest was “Moving Forward Together: Women Educating & Inspiring Generations.” Here are the winners:
- **Division I (Grades 3-5)**: Dallas Steffes, 5th Grade, Clark Elementary School
- **Division II (Grades 6-8)**: Manvith Tanneru, 6th Grade, Clark Pleasant Middle School
- **Editor's Choice**: Elizabeth Maspawnge, 4th Grade, Ray Crowe Elementary School
Ray Crowe Elementary School took home the District Literacy Trophy! Congratulations to all participants!

We are so proud of all of our students and the time and effort they put into taking IREAD. We had three students here at CES who had a perfect score on IREAD this year and these students were recognized by our school board last night. Congratulations to Manreet Dhillon (not pictured as she and her family were unable to attend), Quentin Nssiiro and Elana Van Deman.
The school board also recognized Dallas Steffes, 5th grade here at CES, for winning Division I in the 3rd Annual CPCSC District Literacy Contest.
Congratulations to these four CES students...we are so proud of you!

CES students got to walk the halls with their teacher today and take some free books home from older reading series and novels we no longer use. Lots of choices for them to do some fun summer reading!

Join us for some family fun!!

CES students received their books from Book Blast yesterday afternoon, and we had an all school book opening party! Every student, even if a family chose not to participate, received a book and many students received several. With your help and support, we were able to get a total of 804 book in the hands of our students! We also have 35% of our families participate, which is a pretty decent percentage for our first attempt at this activity.

Mrs. Hinderliter's K students working on their writing in our Nature Center. A BIG thank you to the high school Spanish Club for helping us maintain this beautiful area.

What a great day to move your classroom outside! Mrs. Shannon's 4th grade class taking advantage of the weather and a change of scenery as they learn.

CPCSC Early Release Day Wednesday, May 28, 2025!
Clark-Pleasant Schools will have an Early Release Day on Wednesday, May 28, 2025

We had a wonderful time at CES this afternoon learning about all of the famous Hoosiers our 4th graders learned about and presented to the staff and parents. They did a great job!

I am thrilled to announce that Clark-Pleasant Schools has once again been awarded the NAMM National "Best Communities for Music Education" honor! This marks the sixth consecutive year we have received this award, placing us among just 18 school districts in Indiana to achieve this prestigious recognition.
Congratulations to our outstanding music educators, our school board, administration, and the entire school community for acknowledging the significant impact that music education has on the development of our K-12 students.
