Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, proudly recognized by Clark
Pleasant Community Schools, provides a wonderful opportunity for our community to
celebrate the diverse experiences and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific
Islanders to American society. This month-long celebration, established in 1990 by
President George H. W. Bush, encourages us to honor their resilience, achievements,
and rich cultural heritage.
Here are ways families can commemorate this special month:
- Explore Asian American and Pacific Islander history through books, documentaries, or
online resources.
- Attend local cultural events or virtual celebrations that showcase Asian American and
Pacific Islander traditions, art, and music.
- Try new foods by cooking traditional Asian American and Pacific Islander recipes at
home or dining at local restaurants specializing in these cuisines.
- Share stories, traditions, and experiences from Asian American and Pacific Islander
cultures with family and friends.
- Support local businesses owned by members of Asian American and Pacific Islander
communities.
Let’s come together as a community to celebrate diversity and promote greater
understanding and appreciation for the multicultural tapestry of America.

Join us for an engaging and informative Family Forum designed to shed light on the critical issues of anxiety and depression affecting our youth today. Please note this is the same session that was held in November! This repeat session aims to empower parents, caregivers, and community members with the knowledge and tools to recognize the signs of anxiety and/or depression in young people.

Each child must attend Clark-Pleasant schools for the 2024-25 school year.
Family is eligible for free/reduced lunch
Family is experiencing financial hardship due to unforeseen circumstances (ie; loss of Income due to death of primary caregiver, divorce, natural disaster, sudden loss of employment.)

Complete the registration form for each student that will need supplies.

Mid-State Champs!
Last night, our Unified Track and Field team won the Mid-State Conference championship hosted by Franklin! In only its second year of existence, our Unified team has grown to over 50 students, and truly is one of the best things that the IHSAA offers!
Unified sports are a collaboration between the IHSAA and the Special Olympics that promotes servant leadership among student athletes while changing their lives as well as the lives of those with intellectual disabilities. I highly recommend that you make it a point to come to one of our home Unified Track meets (5/9 or 5/13) and support these student-athletes, you will be so glad you did!

Clark Elementary PTO meeting tomorrow at 6:30pm in the cafeteria. Feel free to come and see what the PTO has accomplished this year and our future plans!
This past Saturday...the community got to experience the Cultural Fair at the high school and CES had a great booth that had a lot of visitors where they got to learn all about our Clark Heritage and the many cultures and languages we have at CES.
CES Folk Dance Club students had the opportunity to travel to Mt. Vernon to show off their skills. CES had one of the largest student groups participating out of all of the schools who traveled there for the activity.
Thank you to Ms. Arndt for teaching and coaching our students and to our parents who supported the program though travel and picking up students from multiple after school practices.
School Bus Driver Appreciation Day is Tuesday April 23!

Former Clark Elementary Student works on NASA Project!
Former Clark Elementary student, Morgan Hinderliter, daughter of Clark Elementary teacher Mariah Hinderliter, has a team competing in the NASA HERC competition in Huntsville Alabama today. “Being a woman and an engineer, competing in a famous NASA competition and a Clark Elementary kid, is pretty cool, " says Hinderliter.
Morgan is a student at Trine University. “This is a part of Trine University’s Design Engineering Technology Senior Design project with the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge (HERC). Morgan says her crew has spent the entire year brainstorming, designing, planning, building, and testing a pedal-powered rover for the competition down in Huntsville. The team is spending two days in Alabama competing against other colleges from all across the world for the top spot!
CES 4th graders put on an excellent spring program last night! Thank you to Ms. Arndt, and the 4th grade teachers, along with all of our students for the hard work everyone put in that made for such a great performance.
The Clark-Pleasant School Board has been recognized by the Indiana School Boards Association with an exemplary governance award for 2023.
The award is for demonstrating an outstanding commitment to professional learning and student success. The awards are based on certain criteria such as goal setting to elevate student achievement outcomes.
JOHNSON COUNTY CHAMPIONS!!!
Last night the Girls Track and Field team won the Johnson County Championship with a score of 157 points. This ended Center Grove's 20 year streak of winning this meet. There are too many outstanding performances to list them all, but here are the athletes/relays that won their respective events:
Elnora Stevenson- 100 meter dash, 4 x 100 relay, long jump (new county record)
Sydney Rodgers- 4 x 100 relay
Marissa Kratowicz- 4 x 100 relay
Emma Gill- 4 x 100 relay
Tori Jackson- 800 meter run (new county record)
