COMMITTED! Ethan Edwards announced yesterday he will be continuing his academic and basketball career next year with the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds!
On Thursday, 5th-grade reading students, from Grassy Creek, attended the Mock Trial of the Big, Bad Wolf, presented by the seniors in Mrs. Holton's Government class at Whiteland High School. The students observed the trial and even participated in helping the jury decide who was guilty. Ultimately, Curly Pig was found guilty! After the trial, the seniors had a Q&A session with the fifth-grade students and also demonstrated a cool hand trick to help them remember the Bill of Rights.

Our 8th grade band students went to WCHS to see the HS marching band perform their 2024 show “Black Orchid.” They had a blast learning about the marching band and meeting our HS band students! Good luck to the Marching Warriors at their ISSMA competition this weekend!

Pet Rocks or Pizza?
WCHS Econ students had some unique items for sale during Wednesday's annual Econ Mall. This assignment allows students to create their own small business, promote it, and then reap the profits or suffer the losses.
While some students went the more tried and true route selling soda, donuts, pizza, and pastries, others took a bolder direction selling things like s'mores, squeeze cheeks, and some very unique pet rocks.
The lesson teaches students about marketing, sales, and inventory, as well as other economic and business principles.

That's why we love this day—National Custodian Day, which rolls around every October 2. It recognizes the hard work it takes to keep our public facilities in tip-top shape, as well as the people who diligently work to ensure we have spotless and sanitary schools.
Custodians are our first line of defense in the war on germs, and often, it's a thankless task. So, on National Custodian Day, show your appreciation to the custodians who clean our schools. Custodians are the hardest-working people in the "show" business!

Studying Habitat & Eco Systems!
WCHS AP Environmental Science Teacher, Taylor Tatlock, took her AP Environmental Science students on a field trip to the Indianapolis Zoo Wednesday. The outdoor lesson was to enrich lessons about biodiversity.
OSHA Cards Presented!
Three WCHS students, Charles McMichael, Jackson Mullins, and Mackenzie Bowen, received their OSHA cards on Wednesday, making them eligible to work on a construction site. The cards were presented to them by Assistant Superintendent Dr. Cassandra Shipp.
These students are part of an Innovative-Groundbreaking Program announced earlier this year between Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation and The Howard Companies construction firm. The Howard Companies donated $25,000 to the high school to launch the program. This program is a new civil construction pathway program that aims to equip Whiteland Community High School students with the skills and credentials necessary to be employable and ready to join the workforce or continue their certifications upon graduation.
This partnership allows students to earn college credit and certification while in high school, enabling them to start a career immediately after graduation. https://howardcompanies.com/
