BIG Band Weekend! All three Whiteland Jazz Bands had terrific performances this weekend at the Bloomington Jazz Festival. The bands all received critical acclaim and overall the bands walked away with 10 Outstanding Performance awards and 3 Outstanding Soloist trophies. Thanks to fundraising from National Spanish Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, and donations from WCHS faculty, seven WCHS students went on a shopping spree Thursday for the Angel Tree Store. Students had a great time shopping for families in need this holiday season!

Valuable Insight! 15 WCHS students (grades 10-12) went to Ivy Tech in Franklin. The students went to specifically learn about Advance Manufacturing, Nursing, Criminal Justice and Surgical Tech careers and colleges majors. It was a hands-on field trip and students participated by: -reading schematics and building switches -performing successful NG tubs and learning the sterile way to put on protective gear -hearing from local law enforcement officers and asking questions -operating a VR simulator for Surgery Tech, as well as passing around typical surgery tools (including knee and hip replacements) Thanks to our students listening, participating and respecting the staff and property at Ivy Tech!

WCHS Phase 1 Underway! The first signs of construction for phase 1 of the WCHS construction and renovation can now be seen. Here are the first of what will be many photos to come.

Community Policing at WCHS! Yesterday, we met with several high school students in regards to safety measures we have in place within our corporation, specifically the high school. At the Clark-Pleasant Police Department, we believe relationships are a prerequisite for influence. We are dedicated to sustaining relationships by creating a safe and reliable environment for our community through professalism, planning, training, and experience. We further believe that hearing directly from the students who see and hear what occurs in the school will help make changes for the better. Students and officers discussed issues with the parking lot, traffic flow, classroom transition, and student/officer relationship. As a student stated, "With connection comes respect." We look forward to more meetings in the future to hear how to build a better relationship with our students as well as make their environment safer. Officer T Adkins

We are very excited to once again offer our Youth Dance Guard Clinic to all 4th, 5th, and 6th grade CPCSC students on Saturday December 9th starting at 1:30 PM. That same evening the students will then perform with the WCHS Dance Team at the WCHS Varsity Basketball game. The day will conclude after the performance around 7:00 PM. Many more details about the day will be given out upon arrival. Absolutely no dance experience is required!! We will be meeting at the WCHS North Building with the clinic starting at 1:30 PM. Please enter through Door 4 and follow the signs. The cost of the clinic is just $30 and includes a t-shirt, snack, pizza dinner, and free student entry for the basketball game that night. While we will take registrations at the door, we ask that you please register online at http://clinic.whitelandband.com to make sure we have a shirt in your student's exact size. Payment can be made at the door with cash, credit card, or a check to the "Whiteland Band Boosters".

We had 13 members participate today and came home with some hardware! 🥇1st Place Senior Team - Josie Kelsay, Brody Polesel, Cian Cribbs, & Leorah Morris 🥇1st Overall Senior Individual - Brody Polesel 🐞5th Overall Senior Individual - Leorah Morris 🐞2nd Overall Junior Individual - Lane Corn All 5 of these members will be advancing to the FFA State Entomology Contest in a few weeks!

A Family Feast! A group of WCHS students shared a feast today, which they helped to create. The students invited their parents to the high school to partake of potatoes, stuffing, ham, turkey, and all the trimmings. One thing they all have in common is sharing love and Thanksgiving with their families and teachers. What makes the meal even more special is that the students helped to prepare it in their foods and nutrition class, “Every classroom was in charge of something”, says Intensive Resource Teacher Nikki Purdue. “While this meal is delicious it gives the students a sense of purpose in being able to provide it for their families. She says many of these are families that just want to be included. CPCSC has 5 teachers in this high school level of service which has 51 students this year.

Marlin Jackson Speaks! Former Colt's corner and Super Bowl champ, Marlin Jackson, spoke to students at the CP Academy today. He talked about coming out of the projects in a single parent home but stated he let negatives motivate him not make him a victim. He played for 6 years.

Tori Jackson Commits to Ball State!

WCHS Punjabi Club hosted a Diwali event Thursday. The event featured activities, dance performances, and delicious food. The celebration provided a great opportunity for students to connect and engage with each other in a relaxed setting. Thank for your support and Happy Diwali.

Elite Leaders! Thursday a few of our FFA officers got to participate in Indiana Farm Bureau’s Elite Leadership Luncheon where Whiteland FFA was named the District VIII Winners of the INFB Ag Literacy Challenge! This competition assesses chapters on activities they implement to promote agricultural literacy in their local community. Besides accepting the award, members also got to hear from State Representatives, the IN Director of Agriculture, participate in leadership development activities, and network with other FFA members from across the state!
