🩺 Celebrating the People Who Keep Our Warriors in the Game
March is National Athletic Training Month
All month long we’re highlighting the dedicated athletic trainers who care for our student-athletes and help keep Warriors healthy, safe, and competing at their best.
Today we’re introducing Chris Switzer, one of the newest members of the Whiteland athletic training team.
Education
🎓 B.S. Exercise Science – University of Indianapolis
🎓 M.S. Athletic Training – University of Indianapolis
Chris joined the Whiteland athletic training staff in July 2025 and quickly became an important part of the Warrior family.
What he loves most about the job is helping student-athletes grow while solving the “mystery” behind injuries.
“Each injury is different. Sometimes I have to play detective to figure out what’s going on and how to solve it.”
Chris says what makes Whiteland special is the team and family atmosphere that surrounds the athletic program.
Favorite Memory This Year
⚽ Watching boys soccer win the sectional title in overtime
⚡ And the unforgettable night the football stadium lights went out and the baseball game was shown on the big screen while JCREMC worked to fix the lights!
When he’s not helping athletes recover, Chris enjoys running and spending time with his fiancée.
Thank you for helping take care of our Warriors, Chris! 💙🧡
➡️ Stay tuned as we continue celebrating our Clark-Pleasant athletic trainers throughout National Athletic Training Month.

🌎🏆 WCHS Students Take 1st Place at Regional Envirothon!
Our Whiteland Community High School Envirothon Team Blue brought home 1st place at the Regional Envirothon Competition!
Envirothon is a hands-on environmental science competition where students test their knowledge in five key areas:
🦌 Wildlife
🌲 Forestry
💧 Aquatic Ecology
🌱 Soil & Land Use
🌎 Current Environmental Issue (this year: non-point source pollution — “It Begins at Home”)
Students learned from environmental science professionals and competed in a challenging exam covering these topics.
Because of their first-place finish, Team Blue will now advance to the Indiana State Envirothon Competition on April 29 in West Lafayette, where they’ll tackle another test and deliver a presentation.
We’re also proud of Team Orange, who represented Whiteland well and competed strongly throughout the day!
Envirothon is a nationally recognized competition with students participating across the United States, Canada, and China — and our Warriors are proving they can compete with the best.
Congratulations, Warriors! 💙🧡

Our students cooked for the firehouse again this week… and the menu was incredible
The WCHS Nutrition students shared some new skills with the firehouse! Students made fresh cheese from scratch, and then simmered it in a scratch-made tomato sauce, for batch of Paneer Masala with Jasmine Rice. They served their delicious Indian meal with refreshing Mango Lassis. They discussed different meal plans and ideas with the firefighters, and chatted about their future goals after school.
We have been so fortunate to have established this partnership with members of our community. The students are learning a lot from these service-minded professionals, and are having meaningful conversations about what they’ll do after high school- Enroll in further education, Enlist in the armed forces, or Employment directly after school. While they’re focused on their future plans, they’re learning healthy and delicious meals - that’s a win-win!
Great food.
Great conversations.
Great community partnerships.
That’s the Warrior Way. 💙🧡

🎶🧡 A look into the future! 💙🎤
On Thursday, the Whiteland Community High School choirs visited Clark-Pleasant Middle School to perform for our current choir students.
Rhythm Masters and Expressions shared part of their show choir sets and talked about what it’s really like to be in the WCHS choir program. They talked about performances, competitions, friendships, and confidence on stage.
Our students didn’t just hear about high school opportunities, they got to see them.

Back at the Firehouse: Students Cook, Firefighters Teach
The WCHS Nutrition Pathway has been studying cultural traditions and influences to prepare for today’s soul food lunch celebrating Black History Month! Students drew from recipes created by the first professionally-trained chef in the country, Chef James Hemings, who trained in Paris and worked while enslaved for Thomas Jefferson, including his most famous dish, macaroni and cheese.
While enjoying pulled pork sandwiches, collard greens, green beans, and peach cobbler along with that macaroni and cheese; the students learned from firefighters what it’s like to drive an apparatus, including the importance of yielding for emergency vehicles. They were able to see onboard footage of actual runs with a firefighter, which expanded their perspective of public service. Engrossed, students asked great questions and learned the difference between an EMT and a Paramedic; as well as what training is required by various departments to work on their service.
Thanks to Whiteland FD for another great collaborative lunch!

🎓💙🧡 A Proud Moment for the Whiteland Community
In a school community like ours, students don’t grow up alone. They are supported by teachers who encourage them, coaches who challenge them, families who cheer them on, and classmates who walk beside them every step of the way.
Today, we are honored to celebrate two students who have truly made the most of every opportunity during their time at Whiteland Community High School.
Please join us in congratulating the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the Class of 2026.
Valedictorian — Ashley Cooprider
Ashley has served as Secretary of Student Health Services and has been actively involved in National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Outside of school, she is highly involved in her church youth group and has been a varsity athlete in both soccer and track.
She plans to attend Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to study Computer Science while continuing her track career.
“I have served as Secretary of SHS and participated in NHS and FCA throughout high school. I am also highly involved in my church youth group and have been a varsity athlete in both soccer and track. I plan to attend Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to study Computer Science and continue my track career.”
Salutatorian — Madison Fleury
Madison has been a member of both the varsity soccer and track teams and has participated in National Honor Society and the Athletic Leadership Council.
She will also attend Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, where she plans to continue both her academic journey and her soccer and track career.
“I have been a part of both the varsity soccer and track team. I participated in NHS and Athletic Leadership Council. I am going to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to continue my academic, soccer, and track career.”
Ashley and Madison represent the heart of Whiteland. They are students who have worked hard, lifted up their teammates and classmates, and made their school better simply by being part of it.
To their families, teachers, and coaches , thank you for helping guide them to this moment.
And to Ashley and Madison… your Warrior family will always be cheering for you.
💙🧡 Once a Warrior, Always a Warrior. 🧡💙

📈💼 Learning to Invest in Their Future 💼📈
Students in the WCHS Investment Club are already taking important steps toward financial independence. This student-led organization, with nearly 40 members, meets monthly during FIT to explore the fundamentals of investing and long-term financial planning. Through hands-on activities and guest speakers from the financial industry, students are gaining real-world skills they can carry with them long after graduation.
This year, every club member received a free club t-shirt thanks to the generosity of our community partners. We would like to thank:
👏 JCBank — as part of their Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation partnership sponsorship
👏 Ron Wallman
👏 Hoop Editz
Partnerships like these help us provide meaningful opportunities for students to learn beyond the classroom and connect their education to real life. We are grateful for the businesses and community members who continue to invest in our students and our schools.
Club President (2025–2026): Aiden Vargo
Teacher Sponsor: Christa Rinehold
Thank you for helping prepare our students for bright futures!

Our students cooked up some love this week ❤️🚒
