Immunization Information!
School Year 2024-2025
Dear Parent/Guardian,
As the Health and Nursing Service Coordinator for Clark Pleasant Community School Corporation, I welcome your child back for the 2024-2025 school year. I would like to send a friendly reminder our vaccine exclusion date for the 2024-2025 school year is:
September 1, 2024.
Indiana law (IC 20-34-4-5) provides that no student shall be permitted to attend school beyond the first day of school without a written statement of the student’s immunizations unless:
a current immunization statement is on file with the school or,
a statement by the local health officer or a physician that the required immunizations have been delayed by extreme circumstances and that a time schedule for immunization has been established, or
a physician certifies that the immunization would be detrimental to the child’s health (IC 20-34-3-3, or a written statement of religious objection has been filed. (IC 20-34-3-2)
If you have a religious or medical objection, please provide documentation to your child’s school. This documentation is required every year. If your child needs more than one visit to complete the required immunizations, you must keep your appointments and provide us with the information.
If you have any questions please contact the school nurse.
Thank you,
Lisa M. Monge, MSN, RN

Dear Families and Community Members,
We are excited to invite you to a free Youth Mental Health First Aid training session, thanks to our Project AWARE Grant! This important program is designed to empower adults with the knowledge and skills needed to support young people who may be experiencing mental health challenges or crises.
During this training, you'll learn how to identify the signs and symptoms of mental health issues, provide initial support, and connect youth to professional care when necessary. Whether you're a parent, teacher, coach, or simply care about the well-being of our community's youth, this course is invaluable.
Space is limited, so please SAVE THE DATE and be on the lookout for the registration to open soon!
We look forward to your participation in this vital training as we work together to support the mental health of our youth.

Food-Family-Fun!
National Night Out, paying tribute to our police officers and first responders, was another big success Tuesday night. Several families and individuals took advantage of free food and fun to learn more about the lives of those who serve and protect us daily. Thanks to our Clark-Pleasant Police Department, especially Officer Talia Adkins for organizing this year's event, and to all the CPCSC families who supported us. Also a special thanks to Johnson County Sheriff Duane Burgess and his staff for bringing in some heavy and sophisticated equipment for the public to get a close look at.

Innovative-Groundbreaking Program Announced for WCHS!!!
A partnership is announced between Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation and The Howard Companies construction firm. “After 18 months of hard work and collaboration a ceremony was held at Whiteland Community High School this week where we were presented a check for 25,000 dollars to launch a civil construction pathway program”, says WCHS Principal, Duke Lines. The new civil construction pathway program will begin to equip Whiteland Community High School students with the skills and credentials necessary to be employable and ready to join the workforce or continue their certifications upon graduation.
The $25,000 contribution from Howard Companies goes straight into the program to help sponsor and pay for all necessary items for the students to be successful. “We realize that students should have the opportunity to start a career path and earn college credit while in high school. This partnership allows students to earn college credit and certification while in high school to start a career immediately after graduation," stated Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Cassandra Shipp. Dr. Shipp says students will begin hands-on experiences working in the construction trades while still in high school, paving the way for a bright and well-paying future immediately out of high school.
“The school corporation commends Howard Companies for this visionary approach to preparing students for successful careers and we look forward to our ongoing relationship”, stated CPCSC Superintendent Dr. Tim Edsell. Several students with interest in the program attended the check presentation ceremony.
