NHS Induction Ceremony! WCHS National Honor Society Advisor, Katie DeClercq, says the NHS inducted 35 new members of the Whiteland National Honor Society Thursday evening. Congratulations students on this major accomplishment.

That's the theme for National School Breakfast Week which is going great! 🤩 Thanks to our Food Services staff at each building for their great efforts to make the week fun and entertaining with all the decorations, wardrobe and music. The Surf's Up for one more day so come on in Friday morning kids to get your delicious breakfast and start your day strong! Our Food Services staff will be waiting for you! Envirothon! 4 WCHS students competed in a competition called Envirothon on Wednesday. They got to hear from professionals from 5 different fields of Ecology: Aquatic Ecology, Wildlife, Forestry, Soil and Land Use, and Current Issues (Solar Panels). They got to do some cool hands-on learning and hear stories from these professionals on what they do and why these fields are important for the environment. Whiteland placed 4th place overall during testing!

Saddle Up! Howdy Partners! Whiteland Choirs is hosting their annual Mini Show Choir Camp June 3rd-7th at WCHS. Any incoming 2nd-8th graders for the 24-25 school year are welcome! Each day, the students will be learning choreography and singing songs that fit the theme of our camp this year, "It's a Wild time in the West!" Please see the flyer for more information. We can't wait to have a rootin', tootin' good time this summer!

The Time to Prepare is NOW! Governor Eric Holcomb has proclaimed March 10–16, 2024, as Severe Weather Preparedness Week. Clark-Pleasant Community School Corp. urges everyone in our community to be as prepared for severe weather as possible. Here are some important reminders.

Surf's Up! March 4-8, is National School Breakfast Week celebrating the importance of a nutritious school breakfast in fueling students for success. WCHS students got a free breakfast this morning as they prepare for testing. The cafeteria decorations celebrate this year's theme which is "Surf's Up"! This special observance celebrates the national School Breakfast Program and the many ways it gives kids a great start every day.

Biz Town Trip! Fifth graders at WES enjoyed an amazing trip to JA Biz Town! This is an opportunity provided by a fall grant from our Clark-Pleasant Education Foundation!

Twice Upon a Time is Coming to BES

Playing/Teaching the Part! Mr. Evans, 6th grade Social Studies teacher at CPMS won a grant from the Clark-Pleasant Education Foundation, (CPEF) that allowed him to purchase several costumes to help him teach his Social Studies class. As part of his Civics Unit he is teaching all about the constitution and decided he would do that in a full out Pioneer outfit. He teaches 6th grade Social Studies at CPMS.

Living History Museum! RCES students put on a Living Indiana History Wax Museum Friday. Some of the featured Hoosiers included, Michael and Janet Jackson, Abe Lincoln, Ray Crowe and several Reggie Miller's. Other sports figures included Don Mattingly and Bob Griese

Riley Rally! Congratulations to students and staff and parents at Grassy Creek Elementary. They held a rally Friday celebrating the more than three thousand 500 dollars raised for Riley. Way to go everyone.

Big BAND News!!! WCHS just received official word that both the Whiteland Jazz Band One and Shades of Blue vocal jazz are 2024 ISSMA Jazz State Finalists!!! This means that both the jazz band and vocal jazz were in the top nine scores in the state! They now have the opportunity to perform at State Finals on Friday March 15th at Pike High School (Jazz Band) and Franklin Central (Choir). We will be receiving schedules shortly and will share for anyone that would like to come out and support our talented students in this state-wide showcase! The Whiteland Community High School Band Department had the pleasure of hosting over 80 different performing groups from all of the state at the ISSMA Jazz event held this past weekend. The Whiteland Band Boosters and students did an AMAZING group of hosting these student musicians as they performed for adjudication. Friday night was a special night of jazz for the Whiteland Jazz Bands!!! FIT Big Band - GOLD with Distinction Jazz 3 - GOLD rating Jazz 2 - Group I - GOLD with Distinction Jazz 1 - Group I - GOLD with Distinction These groups also earned THIRTY ONE solo ribbons for excellence in improvised solos!! Whiteland is one of only a few schools across the state that enters their top TWO jazz bands in Group One (the highest difficulty of music and adjudication). For the second band to get a "With Distinction", is something quite special. And finally a special congratulations to Jazz One for knocking it out of the park and receiving the highest score in school history!!

March Madness Book Tournament! RCES. Kindergarten students kicked off their March Madness book tournament Friday. There are 16 books total and each day they will read 2 and narrow it down to 8 then the final 4, 2 then we will have a book of the year. We also have guest readers coming to help us read to the kindergarten.

Whiteland FFA had a great day at the District VIII FFA Leadership Development Events Saturday at Eastern Hancock High School! Below are the results.
